  • I went for it and am not disappointed.
Style: 300Hz | i7 | 2T SSD | RTX 2070 SUPER
So my wife recently inherited my Zephyrus 15 (with an i7 CPU and 1070 GTX) for work which gave me an excuse to upgrade. Decided on this machine. Went with the 2070 super version because I couldn't quite stomach the inflated cost of the 2080 version. I'm thrilled with this PC. The design of the machine is incredibly cool and it really grabs the eye. My wife, who is not technologically inclined, immediately got a little jealous. The second screen is awesome and is really functional. I like that it doesn't have a built in web cam. It is thin and light. However, setup was a little bit of a pain in the butt. It shipped with an older version of windows 10, and after a few hours of updating, I started having issues with the second screen (screenpad +). For whatever reason, the image would flicker to the point that it was unusable. After a while, I managed to figure it out through the Asus support site. It walks you through reinstalling drivers for the screenpad+, which was a little more involved than I anticipated, but ultimately, not too bad. Asus has a "myASUS" app which conveniently links all the tools and drivers that you need. Fortunately, a reinstall of a couple of the screenpad drivers fixed the problem and it's been working normally since. I hope this isn't going to be a persistent problem every time Windows decides to update going forward. But how does it play? Like a dream! Gaming on this thing is awesome. I haven't REALLY put it through its paces yet, but so far I am impressed. My biggest concern with such a thin form factor is the thermals, and on my previous ASUS Zephyrus laptop, CPU thermals were a real problem. So much so, that I had to undervolt using throttlestop. Not so with this machine. I believe ASUS now uses liquid metal thermal paste on these models, and I believe the design of the duo (with the second screen which elevates when you open the laptop) really lends to better cooling. The other thing I am doing is gently propping up the back of the laptop on the included wrist rest during gaming sessions, which allows better air flow to the undersurface vents. Just got done playing Borderlands 3 on Ultra settings (1080p), using "performance mode" getting an average framerate of about 75-80 with CPU temps averaging in the low to mid 70s and GPU temps in the 60s. I'll take it! Will try some other games soon, but so far this thing is exceeding my expectations. ... show more

  • Worth it, but had some minor issues.
Style: 300Hz | i7 | 2T SSD | RTX 2070 SUPER
Bought it expecting the worst, but everything is working as intend and breaking every expectation; it runs really smooth and at a good temp when gaming and have been really happy with it ever since!!! :)

  • Great Laptop with duo screens
Style: 300Hz | i7 | 2T SSD | RTX 2070 SUPER
I purchased this for video editing. The duo screen gives you an extra monitor built in. I plug in external monitor that gives me 3 screens to work with. I am very disappointed with windows 10 as compared with Windows 7 Pro. I spent weeks removing the excess junk apps from various vendors. Microsoft has forced settings & apps that you don't need or want but that's my opinion. I sure miss Windows 7. The only complaint I have regarding this laptop is it has no Home Key, Page Up, Page Down, and End Key. This is a gaming laptop not a video editing laptop. You can still work around it with extra key-strokes. Best feature is duo screen & how the laptop opens up to allow fresh air in. A first in laptop design. I like the fact the touchpad serves 2 functions (touchpad & numeric keypad). I have been using this laptop over 8 hours per day & only the power-supply is slightly warm. ASUS has a great design with the open keyboard. Hope future models include a regular keyboard. ... show more

  • Beast of a portable machine
This laptop boots up in a min after turning it on. It's the fastest thing I've own and powerful. Only bad part is the bottom screen is more of a matte type instead of a clear picture like the main display an didn't come with dying light :(

  • I love it
Is it expensive, you bet! Is it awesome, absolutely! Gameplay was great on it, and the angled screen allows us to have a guide up or discord which I am usually in while playing. It's fast, not too hot but I still would put it on a table over your lap, and runs great. 5-hour battery with both monitors on. ... show more

  • Good Laptop
Style: 300Hz | i7 | 2T SSD | RTX 2070 SUPER
I am very happy with this laptop. I wanted the functionality of having a touch screen while still having the ram of handling some heavy programs. It has exceeded my expectations. I really love it!

It has better than expected battery life. Upgrade capacity is nice for future upgrades, just as nice as the backlight options for the keyboard.
