  • Not For Novice
Reading the reviews had me worried. Quickly figured out that most issues aside from DOA situations have been caused by user error. So very typical when it comes to computers. Have the right tools and make sure they are quality tools. Read the manual then read it again. This is a bragging rights buy. It will not be worth the money unless you plan on buying well above midgrade components and it still isn't worth the money. I was aware of this before I bought it and it performs exactly like my $130 Gigabyte ITX board. It's pretty...very very pretty. You can get yourself into a lot of trouble with a board like this because it will let you do whatever you want regardless of if it will destroy itself or other components so stick with the optimized default settings and only change the ram from auto detect to XMP/D.O.C.P. until you feel comfortable with wrecking a $450 mobo that is eye candy for its form factor. ... show more

  • Powerful small form factor board, but pricey.
Excellent board for its size and class. Offers the most convenient location for nvme hard drives with 2 slots. Excellent component architecture and locations. Really pricey but for a small package that punches far above its size it's the best board currently on the market for enthusiast and power builds. For anyone worried about the active cooling acoustics on the X570 chipset, dont be. Its virtually silent and the board also features a dense heatsinks and a backplate on the board with a heat pipe that lends to further cooling. Excellent board if you have the money and want to go small form factor. I'd whole heatedly recommend. ... show more

  • Great board! But SO-DIMM.2 is both the best and worst thing
The board looks great, has all the features I want, couldn't be happier on that front. But I do kinda have two complaints: The SO-DIMM.2 slot/card, and the back reset button. The Reset, BIOS, clear CMOS buttons on the back IO is probably convenient for some but I think Ive pressed it more times trying to plug in speakers then I have on purpose. The SO-DIMM.2 card is both great and absolutely terrible. Its great, because its actually really convenient if you need to add, or remove an M.2 SSD later on! But the physical latch holding it place, and the fan headers on it are terrible. The fan headers hardly have any grip on the plug, causing accidental unplugging (and you might not realize they are unplugged till you turn on the PC. The latches holding the SO-DIMM.2 hold it wobbily and just super insecurely. I guess thats good since its easier to remove... but it it always feel like your unsure if the card is actually in or not. ... show more

  • great board for a heavy cost
I heard about a problem with the thermal pads of this board however i didnt experience those problems. great board, easy to use bios, the vrm active cooling fans are almost silent. WARNING: the SODIMM heat sync screws are on there, unnecesarily tight. i got them off safely by using a (000 phillips) with a piece of electrical tape under it for extra grip and gap filling. that way i didnt strip the screws. In the end though, i had to install the sodimm without the heatsyncs because they couldnt fit between the graphics card and the also thick h80i v2 radiator with them on. ... show more

  • Would recommend the x570 rog-stix unless not your within budget.
Pin layouts are easy to work with, the so-dimm.2 is nifty for m.2 storage, and additional fans headers. I would verify fitment for your itx case because this is a mini dtx motherboard. This fits inside of an Ncase M1 V6. This is a top of line itx board that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a high end enthusiast build. However if it's too pricey I'd look at the rog x570-strix which is very similar with $200 less. Main difference would be the power connector locations, so-dimm.2 slot, clear cmos and code reader in the rear io, and a few other small touches. ... show more

  • that m.2 card is hard to swallow
i have the ssupd mesh and i had to remove the m.2 metal shroud/heatsink on the card to reduce height, i also went with a stand off mod and had to extend my side mesh panel with an extension and 3mm worth of washers, i got it because it has a ton of rear io but please strongly reconsider because again that m.2 card has 2 pwm radiator headers and its a terrible spot for fan headers, the card feels super flimsy and if you put too much side pressure you will snap at the base, and if you have limited aio tube space in the case you will have to route the tubes between the rear io heatsink? cover and the card, the card too heigh off the board, and sadly it could of been smaller looking at the m.2 card pcb. Lets talk about the rear io. the postcode debug number is overated, the cpu 8 pin power is not in the best spot for me and the front hd audio card i took out because of tubing constraints, get itx or get atx. just because it fits in an itx case doesn't mean you should shove it in. side addon, the back plate edge is really sharp, just from a little rub got down to metal shield of my riser cuting through the ruber, please put tape lver every edge, the back flat side is also really obrasive if you touch it, you can literally see your dead skincells coming off. yeh a 430 dollar mobo has m.2 slot issues on an dtx format what a joke, the back has no m.2 spots even tho its so fat from the back plate. ... show more

  • By far the best small form factor board
This is the only small form factor x570 board that has two m.2 slots and optical. The asrock has optical but only one m.2 and all other ITX boards have no optical. Also, every other board has you put the second m.2 at the back of the board which in sandwich layout cases would have it pressing against the hottest part of your case, the GPU. There is a review here that complained that the so dimm barely fit because his m.2 came with a heatsink, well you are supposed to remove the stock heatsink as the plates on the so-dimm is already a heatsink. No point in having double,it's actually worse. In conclusion, yes it is expensive but there is no other board that provides anything close to what this does. This board even beats full size boards in overclocking. You get what you pay for for sure. ... show more
