Does the job well! Much less random crashes from my GPU taking too much power. Came with more than enough cables for everything I’d need. No difference in volume compared to before coming from a 750w EVGA. It’s definitely on the spendy side but worth it in my opinion. I was very excited to get the 3rd generation module (1200W) that could be the last component to make my All-ROG rig. But after an hour of work and tried to turn my system on, it didn't; instead, it sparked with a loud exploding sound! I was first worried if it was connection issues. But when I unplug all cables, there's no any sign of melting and damage nor any burning smell. And when I reconnected with my old evga psu all ran as usual. I guess it was the quality issue of the capacitors. Anyway I would suggest anyone to avoid this PSU. ... show more

Anyone using a BTF board for the purpose of powering the Matrix 5090 beware that you need two 12VHPWR connections (the board slot on BTF boards also needs a 12VHPWR connection) and this PSU only has one 12VHPWR. My other PSU, Seasonic 1600w has two, as does the ROG Thor 1600W Titanium III, but only the III, not earlier models. I realize the Matrix is too rare to care perhaps, but for a PSU of such expense future proofing is my concern. The Matrix is just the first card to require dual and seeing other cards like the Astral 5090 BTF (single power) and MSI Lightning, etc, to me I rather have a PSU with two 12VHPWR connectors for the next phase or two of GPU's rather than have to deal with PCIE splitters down the road. Just something to think about. ... show more

I owned the Thor 1 1000w PSU. The cables were wrapped in fabric. The Thor 3 is like a plastic type rubber. I think they should have stayed with the fabric wrapped cables. It's not enough to knock off a star though. I'll be getting a cablemod kit. Really like this PSU. It's made by Seasonic. I chose the 1200w version because of that. Wentai makes the 1600w version which had a high failure rate. Supposedly the fan on 0db would not spin when the power supply got overheated causing it to pop. ... show more
