The BIOS made it super easy to get the RAM to the 3,000MHz. Just went in and check the "XMP" box. Haven't tried overclocking the processor, because I haven't seen the need to make it go any faster really. Overall, I would highly recommend this for your workstation and or gaming build. Love it. It is just blazing fast, and awesome for use with Cinema 4d for modeling, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., and new AAA games running at Ultra settings (or having 50 internet browser tabs open plus streaming video). ... show more

  • Best budget gaming motherboard
This product is great. It has great thermals, great for overclocking the i7-9700k to its full potiential, and great looks. I went for a red and black theme for my gaming build so this motherboard fit perfectly with my build. I have had no problems with it, it came in great packaging nothing was damaged and was very easy to install. Overall if you want a good motherboard but don't have a budget of over $200, this is a solid choice. • Seems to work well
I finally upgraded after many years- this board 16gskill trident rgb 970 evo i5 9600k booted right up- we are talking less than 10 seconds and it only takes that long because I have a 3 second delay set for the bios screen, didn't take much tinkering in bios to get the processor to 4.99 ghz- they have a profile- easy peasy doubled the frame rates in my favorite game- from 55-60 to 120-130, I can't believe my old i7 3770k was that much slower and holding my GPU back- 1070ti, but it was, seems like a good board at a good price, only time will tell but I have had good luck with ASUS in the past and don't expect anything different in the future. ... show more

  • Great board, small design flaw
Great board for the price, havent had any issues with it performance wise, only gripe is with the heat sinks at the top, you cant mount an aio and fans in the top of the case, seems to be an issue with most rog boards as my friend had the same issue. Other than that, it fired right up and posted first try, been running strong ever since. ... show more

  • First one arrived DOA but second was great.
I have been trying to find a way to contact Amazon to say that yes I returned the first purchase of this motherboard but I did purchase a second because it the first was faulty. I could not get the first one to post nor give an error beep. No Q Led lights, nothing. The radiator fans worked but nothing else. Motherboard came on and it wasn't until I took out the cmos battery that the chassis fans came on after I put it back. No matter what I did it would not post/boot/beep into the bios. That is why I ordered a second to make sure it wasn't just me. I even filmed what it was not doing and also filmed when I plugged the new one into power supply before installing. Posted with visible Q Led lights and error beep. The replacement is running as we speak without issue. Love this motherboard. Instruction book was easy to follow. I just want to thank Amazon for allowing me to return the first without question. As I said if you do have any please let me know as I filmed it. I just used the contents of the new box and placed it the old box with the first board seeing as I had already scattered the parts from the first one. Amazon did offer an exact replacement but I had already ordered one. I wanted to have them side by side to make sure it wasn't something I was doing wrong. It wasn't me. Again thanks to Amazon for the ease of return and understanding. ... show more

  • A great board with one minor oversight
It’s not worth repeating all the same features that are in the product description & other reviews, but I wish it had one more fan header positioned near the back of the board, above the PCI slots. It’s cool that it has a AIO header along with the traditional CPU headers, but many cases have a rear exhaust fan in addition to the front chassis and CPU cooler. It’s a little odd for this to be overlooked given the rest of the attention they obviously spent on this board. It’s not worth docking a star though, imo. If you really want to run a fan there you’ll figure out how to do it. ... show more

  • Simple but effective.
8700k @ 5 ghz stock voltage, no delid with a noctua cooler 68c all day. Best overclocking bios ive had. So many features its crazy. Sim Has the rog gmaing look from asus that gives it a nice look. Also the ram is over clocked by 466mhz no voltage change.
