Bought this laptop as an upgrade to my old ROG. Wanted something i could use my HTC Vive and have more mobility than my desktop. Through a little fenagling (probably butchered that word). I was able to get my VR to work with the laptop and wow, it ran it perfectly. Great mobility, lightweight, durable, great battery life, and everything I've come to expect from Asus, which is somewhat of an insult than a compliment considering how many years I've used their products with that line "Come to Expect", but yes, very Beautifully and well crafted, worked perfect right out of the box, and genuinely love this laptop. I bought the 1440p (QHD) version of this laptop, and the difference from 1080p screens is significant. I’m using the laptop for game development, and some 3D modeling, rendering and animation, and the increased sharpness of the display, combined with the extra space you get with a 17 inch laptop, is a real pleasure. Very pleased with the feel of the keyboard, too. And I really like the RGB on the front edge of the laptop. Ok, it’s just cosmetic… but why discount the way it looks? Note that the refresh rate is 165hz, not 300hz with the QHD version of the Asus Strix G17, but that’s plenty good enough. The RTX 3070 with 8gb of VRAM seems pretty fantastic in a laptop, and then a Ryzen 9 processor on top of it, wow. The battery life seems extraordinary, compared to what I’m used to in a laptop. Of course, you really need to plug in when really using the power of this laptop for gaming or rendering and such. ... show more

I have had a lot of problems with this laptop about a year or so after I got it. Locking up, crashing, the SSD dying 2 years in, unable to handle streaming software and a browser up at the same time. I doubled the memory hoping that would help and it hardly did anything. Three times I've had it lock up so bad I've ended up in a loop of 5 minutes up, look at logs, hard reset, 5 minutes up to uninstall update, hard reset, lather rince repeat. I keep it blown out of dust, make sure nothing is around the vents, have it either on proformance or windows mode so it doesn't overheat. And that fan is loud when it winds up but I deal with it to keep it from overheating. I've reinstalled windows multiple times to get it up and running (which is a nightmare every time because some programs are hard to get backups on). I luckily have One Drive to back up to but I shouldn't gave to fight with this so much. Wish I'd gotten an Omen instead. Not necessarily a fan of HP (for reasons) but my last laptop was an HP that's didn't give me nearly this problem. The only reason I got a new computer was my husband needed a computer so instead of getting him a low end computer I went with a higher end one (at least so I thought) because I stream with it and make money doing so. Once again, now I'm spending hours or maybe days (had to cancel streams for almost a week last time) and making no money doing so. Do research and find yourself something else. ... show more

Lo compre en Colombia y duro poco más de una semana en llegar, realmente estaba envuelto muy bien, con muchas protecciones, cajas, espumas y demás. Es bonito y elegante, en mi caso compré la versión de 17 pulgadas y su resolución es muy buena, fiel a colores y con un panel delgado. No trae camara. En la caja se incluye cargador y manuales. Muy bien desempeño. Luces LED en perfecto estado y vino nuevo, sin ninguna marca de uso. Una compra totalmente recomendada aunque tendrán que averiguar en benchmarks y versiones de hardware para estar más seguros de la compra, pero si entrar en detalle en ese apartado, se puede estar seguro que cumple con todo, para correr juegos de última generación sin problema y hacer multitarea sin lag. Overall, a Great Gaming Laptop. Amazon's service, superb, as usual. Arrived a week earlier than expected. Coming from MSI GP75 with RTX 2060 (90W), its a great upgrade for me. Play all AAA Titles with ease at MAX Settings. CPU boosts upto 4.3-4.4GHZ (All cores) & 4.7-4.8Ghz (Single Core) and pulls about 80W in Turbo Mode. Temps get a little uncomfortable, but stays under 90C even at long usage. That Liquid Metal really does the job, else it would have been impossible to control that 8-Core Beast at 80Watts. GPU is Full Power RTX 3060 and pulls around 125-130Watts at full load. The temps here also get high. For GPU Die 81-83C and Hotspot Temp around 87-89C. For a GPU, i guess these temps are not good. I would recommend undervolting the GPU in MSI Afterburner. You can get higher FPS at low voltage and power consumption, which means cooler GPU. The only 2 things I really think could have been better are; >> Better Response time of 3ms on this 144hz screen and not 25ms !! >> Better cooling for GPU die, even Liquid Metal if possible to keep it cool at 130W. Amazon's algorithm vomited the phrase "touch screen" into the review form several times, so I'm going to state, just for the record, that this laptop does not have a touch screen. I bought this for work, so I can't help comparing it to the discount refurbished piece of junk my employer provides, meaning I probably love it a little too much. Graphical performance is decent for a laptop, but still no substitute for a proper desktop graphics card. LCD is surprisingly good, although I need to tweak the color a bit. Anyone purchasing this for photo editing should already have a decent colorimeter, though. Weirdly, my biggest complaint so far is that the keyboard has no indicator LED for NUM LOCK. I use the numeric keypad an awful lot at work, and it's a bit annoying not having an indicator built in like the capslock key has. ... show more
