This computer is a workhorse. It downloaded like 14 games overnight, oh, doesn't sound impressive? I forgot to mention I am on a campus in the middle of the rocky mountains MT with crap for wi-fi and normally it take 72 hrs to download a 50 gb game. My old pc is over fifteen years old, so I never splurge on myself. This was a first and it's like being introduced to what I have been missing out on. It's fast, it's got amazing display, I adore the RGB backlit keys. Also, the seller was amazing! Again this was the first time I soent this much money on something, and the first package was lost so not gunna lie I kinda panicked. This computer is constantly restarting when the display shuts off. The screen has yellow spots on it from what looks like screws being torqued to tightly but I dont want to attempt to fix that. The trackpad is garbage. The final straw is that the ethernet cable housing has enough play where the cable can be plugged in but not connected. Like the other one star reviews, mine worked great for 15 months - powerful, smooth, everything I was looking for. Then it started acting oddly - updates failing, not finding components (it lost the wifi for about six weeks before suddenly recognizing it again; similar thing with the storage drive). Eventually it will boot and hang on a black screen before even loading Windows. Months of repair and recovery efforts for nothing. I finally took it in to Microcenter (the recommendation of the ASUS support team). They opened it up and the next morning I was informed that the motherboard was bad. And since it's integrated with the video card and some other systems it would cost more than the value of the laptop to fix. Once could be bad luck. But this is the second RoG laptop I've had die on me due to core components failing. The first ROG lasted 22 months. At this point it feels like they are set up to last through warranty and then quickly fail. ... show more
