  • It's a nice device worth the money and not resilient for a laptop
Capacity: 8G DDR5 | 512G SSD
First and foremost ( remotely possibly) this is the best computer purchase I've ever made for my wife, who is genetically toxic to laptops. She does NOT break things, *I* am the breaker of valuable antique crystal and china she cherish(ed), but my wife can break the body of a laptop just surfing, and I don't mean standing on it, as she is very lightweight! :) Seriously, she is tiny and the laptop ANGUISH over ruined and lost data ( before we started backing up her photos and copying mine in the process) was LEGENDARY. Apple knew, and many, not just several Windows OS computer companies also were hit with the death knell from our home. We MUST HAVE THIS COMPUTER IN OUR HOUSEHOLD and when it dies or becomes obsolete, if such a thing can happen with my mad computer skills, then it will be replaced with ANOTHER ASUS!!! They are almost indestructible. It is a fine laptop PC, great resolution, great streaming without any lags, and the color is brilliant. My wife likes that it is both color and sound adjustable and wanted me to mention this is a major feature for her to have the ability to lighten the screen should she desire. It functions perfectly ( I have now jinxed the very computer) and as far as I know the power can be set to be balanced. She never uses it on battery power except during a freaky storm power outage but says the power life is very good and she could use it for way over 8 hours with battery alone ( not continuous use, please understand -she has a LIFE). This and any of her clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, or her car are probably the things she would fight to keep in her possession against rational thought, insert big smiley face here for me please. Arm is being twisted. :) My wife tearfully confessed that she has tripped over the power cord and the laptop 'slid' to the floor about 3 times in about 3 years but " she is very very careful because this is her favorite of all her laptops now consigned to that sorrowful laptop junkyard resting place which has no coordinates on GPS because dead computers can't tell anyone where they are, can they? She says she absolutely would recommend it should anyone ask, She denies ANY spills of any liquids from any source, and as I have had to try to dry out the inner parts of others before this one arrived and I failed to resuscitate, I believe her. The 40 oz Stanley tumblers at least give her time to catch the laptop before they cause me to call out the carpet cleaning guy. NO laptop can withstand spills, of course. Hugely tech IT types will NOT like this laptop because they have that choice, but if it's keeping my life partner happy and productive with her doodling, I have NO complaints at all with the machine, or its owner. :) Oh, she added one small complaint about the keyboard which lights up like the Disney Parade if the user wishes: Even though she uses her colorful mini mouse with care, the " N" key has a large white spot in the center. Yes, honey, that is an infinitesimally small flaw. ... show more

  • Great entry level gaming laptop
Capacity: 8G DDR5 | 512G SSD
Let me preface by saying the last time I purchased a new laptop was in 2005 (Acer Aspire 3000) and while tablets are nice for on the go, my digital life was a hot mess. I needed something that wasn't wafer thin flimsy and that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I am by no means a gamer, nor do I play PC games but I was still looking for a laptop that had some heft to it. I stumbled across this one mainly because it was suggested by amazon and the price seemed right even though its a 2021 model. After reading reviews and comparing bewteen this and the similar price/spec Acer Nitro, I chose this one because upgrading the RAM and adding an additional SSD drive wouldn't require a doctorate in computer science. As far as upgrades are concerned I also purchased the crucial 64GB (2x32gb) set as well as a 2TB Crucial NVMe SSD drive when I ordered this as mentioned by an earlier reviewer. The install took all of 10 minutes to pop the back cover off and slip in the new RAM/SSD modules and I was ready to fire this baby up. I figured I would just max the RAM (64GB) and beef up the storage and be done with it so opening the back cover wouldn't be necessary any time soon. Initial setup was pretty straightforward with Windows 11 and once I got to the home screen I got into the settings and performed all the necessary windows updates as well as the updates for the bundled Asus graphics software. Aside from the McAfee antivirus and the Microsoft 365 trial programs, there was no other bloatware to be found. Once those were uninstalled I was able to customize settings to my liking. The laptop comes as advertised, I wasn't expecting 15 USB ports on this nor do I require that many. The keyboard is very nice and is a full size with a slightly smaller than normal 10 key number pad. Keys are nice and clicky, not mechanical but also not a mushy membrane either. The backlit keys are a nice touch and can be customised to your liking as long as it's all the same color. It has about four different modes for pulsing lights or strobe or just on always. The trackpad is great and has the physical right and left mouse buttons and it is mostly centered so you dont brush the trackpad when typing. Out of curiousity I tried the online benchmark test to see how this machine ranked, and surprisingly with the RAM upgrade it ranked in the 92 percentile range (see photos) and the graphics were very smooth ranging anywhere from high 60's to 130 FPS on ultra settings. As mentioned I am not a PC gamer but hopefully this information will be helpful for those that do partake. I may run some console emulators at some point, but for now I'll just be enjoying the soft glow from the keyboard lighting. ... show more

  • Good and reliable
Capacity: 8G DDR5 | 512G SSD
Good speed, and quality, use it a lot for gaming. Though if playing g on best quality the battery won't last that long, but to be expected when using a laptop instead of a home pc.

  • One of the best budget gaming laptops you can buy right now.
Capacity: 8G DDR5 | 512G SSD
Amazing device with awesome performance, battery life isn't its strong suit however you get what you pay for. It's one of the best options you can get at this price point, definitely recommend it for any budget-conscious buyers looking for a well-built, powerful gaming laptop.

  • For the price and being upgradable is great
Capacity: 8G DDR5 | 512G SSD
Paid $699 for my sons Asus Tuf F15 FX506HF-ES51 and for price and fact you can EASILY add second ram stick or replace both and add second SSD inside was the real deal finish. figured the 8Gigs wouldn’t be able to handle much so I I bought 2 of these Crucial 16G ram sticks ($56 for the pair) to put in my sons Asus Tuf F15 FX506HF-ES51 giving him 32Gigs of Ram and worked perfect. YouTubed how to put in but easy. Just put inside close and done. So decided to also order a Crucial P3 1TB SSD ($38) to put inside as he has secondary SSD slot inside. (Our laptops have 3rd gen SSD slots so buying a 4th gen is pointless). That was just as easy and simple to Format. So I decided to buy the same laptop and then bought 2 32 gig ram sticks from crucial ($100) giving me 64Gigs of Ram, and the same 1 TB solid-state drive for mine and they’ve all done really well. Crucial has been great and reasonably priced thus far. And the laptops have been great and has played some hardcore games. I plan to do some Divinci video editing. So for basically $800 give or take have a Asus Gaming Tuf laptop with 64Gigs of ram and 500TB SSD and 1TB SSD. ... show more
