  • It is also great to be able to plug my phone directly into ...
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
My first experience with an ASUS motherboard, and I must say, coming from a z87 ASRock board, the UEFI software on this ASUS is much more refined and far more navigable. It is also great to be able to plug my phone directly into the USB-C 3.1 connector in the rear. Had the board for about 3 weeks so far and it works great. It was a bit difficult to install, but I attribute that to my case rather than the board. I appreciate that the SATA ports are slightly above the first PCIe port, compared to my previous motherboard where the SATA ports were directly beneath the port, making access to them difficult without first removing the graphics card. Great board, overall. ... show more

  • Great MOBO. Easy Bios. Wonderful looking RGB. Great Price.
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
First things first. I spent a lot of money on my setup. Everything from the water cooler to the EVGA 1080 TI SC2. All the components I bought were RGB including the new RGB Gskill Ram. The first mobo I bought was an ASROCK mobo and it was DOA. I immediately ordered this part for next day delivery and it got here on time and I got my computer up and running the next day. This MOBO is so much better, convenient, and looks so much more flush with my system than the other mobo. I will definitely buy ASUS MOBO's in the future. Wonderful job ASUS -- Also, you guys have very simple and easy to use bios. Well done!! ... show more

  • Quality
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
Before I even received the product as soon as I placed an order, the seller reached out to me to give me their contact information. I received the product earlier than was expected, it was packed to protect. Considering that it's a motherboard that's a large bill to fill ,not only was it pack to protect but it was in an electrostatic bag. Board looked brand new. All the connectors work. So far it has performed flawlessly. I've had it running for about 2 weeks now. ... show more

Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
Works great and and has 4.2 GHz i7 processor. I work from home and use one it's multiple hard drives only for work with a remote desktop. This setup is perfect and out performs every else's home computer. Some were supplied by the company and some are supplied by the coworkers themselves. I have never had problems with this setup. I put 4 hard drives on it and have not stopped adding more and faster memory and will add a better video card next I hooked up my home audio with a digital optical cable and I can get superb sound streaming to my home audio system. I'm happy and have been completely satisfied with this setup for many years. ... show more

  • ASUS Z270-A: Overclocking with an Aesthetical Appeal
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
This ASUS Z270-A motherboard is built for users seeking an aesthetically pleasing motherboard that is capable of overclocking and fits your budget of $150. This ASUS product merits a 4/5 due to its durability in the installation process, overclocking capabilities, and its appeal to the human eye. When it comes to overclocking, this motherboard is a breeze. You have three options to choose from; your base clock, automatic, and manual. I am currently running the i5-7600k and the automatic took it from a base rate of 3.8ghz to 4.5ghz. However, due to the fact that I have a Thermaltake RGB 360mm radiator, I was able to push it to a stable 5.0ghz with this motherboard. I would recommend doing some research online about your CPU first because I would have never attempted a 5.0ghz overclock if I hadn’t found others doing the same thing. Another great thing about this motherboard is its aesthetic appeal. Since my case has a full tempered glass window, I wanted something that I would enjoy looking at from time to time. The white accents are extremely nice with or without added RGB lighting. The RGB lighting reflects very nicely off the white accents and does so with every color option. The motherboard also comes with the AURA light feature, allowing the user to customize the built in RGB lighting. With this software you are able to pick from any of the 16.9 million color options and choose its display effect. Some effects, for example, are static, breathing, wave, strobing, and etc. Lastly, as most PC builders/enthusiasts know, the motherboard is one of the trickiest parts of the entire installation process. My reasoning behind a rating of 4/5 stars is that the user may find some difficulty in installing this board on their own. The rear I/O panel comes with tabs built in and you will need to bend these tabs at least 90 degrees for the motherboard to slide into place. The difficulty comes when you try to install the motherboard with these indented tabs as the large white shield covering the ports obstructs your view. However, ASUS makes up for this through its extremely durable design. The board is designed with some give so even though you may feel like it is going to snap when installing the power adapter, it won’t. I found myself pushing rather hard and never felt I was going to break it. Overall, if you want to overclock and enjoy looking at your computer, this is the motherboard for you. For reference: My custom build is comprised of this ASUS Z270-A motherboard, the i5-7600k CPU, thermaltake RGB 360 radiator, 16gb Ballistix RAM, EVGA 1050ti 4gb GPU, a Cooler Master 650M PSU, inside the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Series. ... show more

  • Capable mobo. Would buy again. Hopefully don’t need to.
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
Great mobo. Tons of features. Easy overclocking and a lot of advanced options if you really want to mess your rig up, you can. The little RGB glow from the board was unexpected, but a nice touch. Really does everything you’d want it to do, and looks good doing it. I have 2 minor complaints though. But not enough to remove a star. The metal shield that goes in back buy the ports is a bit of a pain to get lined up and plug your stuff in. And when I plugged in the connection for the front USB ports, I had to remove it, and the female plug on the mobo ripped off. Luckily, the pins were straight and in tact so I was able to plug it back in. But it was almost a bad scene. ... show more

  • I had high hopes for it as the Motherboard has great potential, but as soon as I powered up ...
Size: ATX Style: PRIME Z270-A
This Board was Dead on Arrival. I had brand new parts for my build with an Intel i7 7700 CPU. Once it was installed, I had high hopes for it as the Motherboard has great potential, but as soon as I powered up the machine, I got a solid LED light in the diagnostic area of the board indicating the CPU. I re-seated the CPU, made sure all the power connectors were right and my Power supply powered all my fans, the Motherboard lights all lit up, but it wouldn't even POST. It was either the board or the CPU. Generally it is extremely rare to get a dead CPU, so I called ASUS to RMA the board. They took the RMA easily so that was nice. I did end up getting a new Mobo just to make sure it wasn't the processor. I bought an MSI Motherboard and once installed, fired right up. So this board has some flaws as it seems it really can't handle the later gen i7 processors. So beware on if you are getting a 7th gen Processor. ... show more
