  • Works well
Style: A320M-K
Works as intended used to build a basic school computer for my little siblings and haven't had any issues since but it's definitely a pretty bare bones motherboard

  • Bland Budget Board - But Broadly Beneficial
Style: A320M-K
These are my notable experiences when putting this in a silent gaming build with an M.2 HD, 16 GB RAM, an AMD 200GE CPU, and Linux as the OS. UPDATE: I upgraded the system by installing Ryzen 9 3900X and a NVIDIA 1650 Super, both with stock cooling. The components were able to work without a hitch and caused no change to the stability of the system. This was quite impressive, and the only question which remains is longevity - but I have high expectations. The BIOS utility was not intuitive, even installing Windows 8.1 requires some hoops because legacy USB keyboard support is an issue. EZ mode and UEFI were mostly useless. Documentation was grammatically correct but barebones. The M.2 drive requires particular BIOS settings to enable or the board simply will not recognize the disk. Updating the firmware was painless, security was adequate, and the clocks and voltages are simple. Hardware installation was uncomplicated. Overall this board has great value and a wide range of supported configurations once you coax the BIOS. ... show more

  • Good basic am4 motherboard
Style: A320M-K
Purchased for a "new" pc build using some spare parts I had laying around. Overall this was a relatively inexpensive mobo that worked for what I needed. A few notes. I purchased this in the 1st quarter of 2021, it booted fine with the ryzen 2600x installed, some other reviews or questions related to bios versions and which cpus we're compatible. There is a single cpu fan header, a single case fan header and no rgb header. This info can be found on the manufacturer website but having the info here might be useful. I have had no issues with this product, it is as described on both the amazon listing and manufacturer page, it worked as expected out of the box, the menus were easy to navigate. ... show more

  • Dont turn your nose up at this one
Style: A320M-K
I would probably not choose this as my main system board because I have a 5900x but honestly I would be very comfortable putting a 4,6, or 8 core cpu in this board. Im using it to build a system for my niece, so she just needs it to work not all the fancy overclocking features> I have a ryzen 1600af in the board, I updated the bios and tried my 5700x from my backup pc and it works fine too, dont overthink getting this board, its cheap it works, so for a basic gaming/office/media pc its just fine..... and cheap. 11/18/22 Got a bad board, swapped it out, running smooth as butter now with a Rx 5700xt recycled from upgrading someone's PC, so $100 bucks for a gaming system and I got rid of spare parts I had, win win ... show more

  • Great budget Motherboard
I’ve only had this for a few months but I will update this review if anything changes! So far this motherboard (ASUS Prime A520M-K) has supported all the previous gen ryzen cpus I’ve thrown at it (1500x, 1700x, 1800x, 2200g, 2400g, and the 2600) I bought this mobo for its comparability with future and past CPUs, I think a lot of people are in the same boat because hardware prices are so high right now. Honestly I think this might become my standard for builds as it’s smaller, budget friendly, and comes with all the features I need. Again I don’t have much to say yet but knowing ASUS I wouldn’t be surprised if this thing is still going strong years later. ... show more

  • I should've known better
Style: A320M-K
Cut me and I'll bleed. Apparently, the overall value of this board is understated in its ability to -- you know -- work as intended. Usually, I research each part to such excrutiating detail that by the time the part arrives, if there is a defect, work around or problem in the system I do not know about; chances are it'll be a surprise or a slightly better variation on the board/update in the bios that renders the current yield completely incompatible with current gen processors. Upon review of this board, I found out, after the hype of the black friday sales died down; I was notified that, per usual with most of my prime orders; the board would be delayed for a week. After finally receiving the equipment (16GB Ram, M.2 512 NVME, 3 SSDs @ 250GB) I plugged in the equipment and powered it on. Neither the board on either output, both HDMI or VGA would send a signal. I thought this was strange, so I plugged in the boards speaker, rebooted the machine and waited for any signal to give me a point of reference on the issue. I removed ram, waited for a beep. Nothing. I removed the SATA plugs along with the RAM waited for any indicator at all. nothing, no beep, no flickering lights. I checked ASUS website for their CPU support, according to their page as of 12/3/2022, the CPU Ryzen 5 5600 G is listed as "ALL" with the bios 5862, which means the update should be active since I am buying my motherboard nearly 6 months since the update and the validated support since PCB. I referenced the support site again, too my surprise, the only issues I could find was the devotion to a small group of individuals reporting issues on last generation AMD Athlon products going over into the Ryzen 7. In order to appropriately generate support on the board, a update to the bios is necessary using the old CPU before the swap can take place. I am a little beyond in my patience since it took nearly two weeks for a build and price that should've been done in under 3. Every product review for the board is referring to the boards inability to boot out of box to display video on a number of 'supported' CPUs. I am not going to pay another $150 to get a machine working as a 'work around' a defect and wasting time on spare parts to frankenstein this build together. I cannot stress this enough, usually when a motherboard is cheap, on sale or recommended, chances are, these are their excess lot thats no longer largely supported and has to be moved out to avoid losing money on it. The lack of expansion memory slots (x2 on a Micro ATX, I have another Micro ATX by Asus with 4, so what gives?) the M.2 support is nice, but, only 4 sata ports (again, i've seen M-Atx with upwards of 6 sata). I get that there is a shift to cloud storage, but, the additional spots can be used in a pinch when mirroring drives, upgrading old mechanical storage or expanding overall storage. My final thoughts are, if you're truly desperate for a budget build, i believe newegg hosts the better prices and support for their products. To date, this is the third budget build with parts from amazon and their support, product age and number of out of box defects won't cut it for the things I wish to accomplish. The whole build is being returned since i do not have the patience to pay extra parts on a unit that should've worked flawlessly. ... show more
