So. I was using a 2 antennae'd pci express network card from another company. My internet would cut out on occasion but it was relatively functional. However, I was invited to start playing videos again after a long break. Namely, Valorant. A fast paced first person shooter that requires solid internet. I did not have that with the old card. Bad experiences with the old card was: -losing connection -high ping -lag -time searching for other internet service providers -buying a 400 dollar hotspot (because I thought it was my internet) -losing discord calls -losing zoom calls -losing skype calls Okay. So it was horrible. And I thought I had to live with it. Various internet services (other wireless, satellite internet, even fiber optic) were not available, so I was stuck with what I had. When, it struck me that it could have been the network card, I downloaded and installed the newest driver. I SUPPOSE it helped, but it did not solve the issue. Enter this thing. I was actually torn between this and another model. There was a bad review on the 4 antennae model that scared me so I went with this one. It arrived quickly. Installation: -I downloaded the driver from the website (quickly found through a google search of "ASUS PCE-AC68" then going under the support tab at the Asus website.) -Shut down and unplugged my computer. -Exchanged the 2 cards (since they fit into the same slot.) -Plugged in and started my computer. -Uninstalled the old network card drivers (should have done this earlier but forgot) -Unzipped and installed the asus driver. -Restarted my computer -Logged into my wifi That's it. => I went from not being able to have discord and Valorant on at the same time. => I went from needing to close every single program that used bandwidth to STILL lag badly from playing Valorant. I'm talking that I have nothing else on. And I will still jump from one spot, to another in the game. My gaming was horribly choppy, and unacceptable. The number of times I would die for pure lag is more then I can count. All this solved! No lag. I can have discord and Valorant and even youtube without any issues. It was never my internet after all! It was like magic. I'm a believer. I'm a fan. AND I'm buying another! I know someone who has had some choppy internet issues and I'm thinking I know why! Now for the bad. Did my internet speed increase? No. It's the same. Speed test was exactly the same (or at least close enough.) But what this thing DOES give is a solid and stable internet connection that you can game with! What this thing does is give a solid and stable internet connect you can STREAM with! You read it right. Streamers on Wifi. If you're having issues. Try this first! Btw. This review has not been paid for, incentivized, requested, or another of the sort. No one gave me free product, or a discount. I just found an answer to my suffering and am sharing it to the world!

My pc is no longer close enough to my router for hardline, and I didn't spend the extra to have built in wifi when I bought my motherboard, so this was my option. When I first installed it, I downloaded the driver software from ASUS, and had all kinds of connection issues. Then, I realized that it hadn't been updated since 2017. I deleted the software and it immediately started working perfectly. Speeds easily handle ESO and Destiny online. I worried that it being such an old model that it might not be enough, but it works great for my needs. I'd give it 5 stars, except that the drivers on their website are so out of date that they cause issues with Windows 11 (and possibly Windows 10).

Normally I like my desktop computer to be hard wired to the router, but when I moved into my current apartment I couldn't put my modem/router in my computer room and it would have taken about a hundred feet of carefully snaked around cabling to connect the modem/router directly to my computer. So I figured what the heck, I'll get a WiFi card so I can connect wirelessly. I went with this one mostly because of the reviews, but also because of the aesthetics. Ooh! A heat sink! In case... I... download multiple terabytes in a single stream and need to keep the card from overheating? And an antenna on a cable so I could move it around to get the best signal. And also so I could make it look like my computer had rabbit ears like an old school TV. Okay that part's admittedly cheesy. Here's the thing: With the included software utility, I was getting dozens of error messages per minute in my Windows 10 event viewer. They all read "The BCM42RLY service failed to start due to the following error: The system could not find the file specified." We're talking thousands of these messages per day. Normally that'd be no big deal. I mean, who looks at their Event Viewer on a regular basis? And who cares as long as it works? But I was having issues where my computer would just restart itself at random. There was no blue screen of death and the only error messages anywhere near the random restarts are, well, I guess by default, the BCM42RLY error messages. I can't definitively say the utility program was causing my computer to crash a few times a month, but once I removed the ASUS utility and just let Windows control the card I've had no BCM42RLY error messages in the event viewer and the computer has been on for 50+ hours straight without a single restart. So make of that what you will. EDIT: After being powered up for another 60+ hours straight without the ASUS software installed my computer had another random crash, so it's likely the unusual crashes are unrelated to those BCM42RLY error messages. Still, the error messages were really annoying and filling up my message queue and I'm glad they're gone with the trade-off of not installing the ASUS utility.
