  • Long time Razer Deathadder user, never looking back. Large hands? Perfect for you.
Style: Gladius II Origin (Wired) Color: Black
Like I mentioned in the title, I am a long time Razer Deathadder user, buying and using various models of it over the years. I always had like it because it's a rather large mouse and I have quite big hands, and most mice are uncomfortably small in my hand. Then I saw this, which is very similar in design, and dimensions, but man it's so much better than even my most recent Razer Deatheradder Elite. Feels very high quality, mouse is a bit heavy, but I like that. The RGB lighting on it is very nicely done, and the clicks are very tactile. Everything about it feels well built, and designed. The side grips are a very nice touch, they have a great material that doesn't allow your fingers to slide even if you get slightly sweaty fingers like I do sometimes. All of that aside, it's an ASUS ROG product, which usually comes in with a high price tag, for not always a significantly better product. But here, it feels all ROG in build quality, for a very affordable price. Picked mine up while listed at $58.99 USD - which happens to be cheaper than any of the Razer Deathadder models I've purchased in the past. As is standard with ASUS ROG products, it comes with a nice array of extras: 2 different length cables, a 1 meter and 2 meter, a very nice metal ROG Sticker, a carrying pouch and MOST IMPORTANTLY REPLACEMENT SWITCHES! This is what really sold me on the mouse. In the event that you actually do wear the switches out, or perhaps would just like to try out the feel of the included additional set, you can do that! Every other mouse I've purchased never came with replacement switches - and whenever it would begin to either double click, or not register clicks I'd just have to suck it up and buy another mouse. Lastly, I've seen some other people struggle with pairing the RGB with the Armoury Crate/ASUS Aura apps. I did NOT have this issue at all, not sure if related to the fact that I have a ASUS Rog Strix B550-F Wifi MOBO? But regardless, the mouse functions flawlessly in all aspects, with some very nifty included treats from ASUS. Absolutely 5/5. ... show more

  • Correct size, smooth, low latency and multi purpose
Style: Gladius II (Wireless) Color: Black
In three words: A great mouse! It connected by BT to my mac without any issue and the dongle is great for gaming in my asus notebook. I can switch instantly from one to the other with the physical switch on the bottom and in cases of emergencies you can just plug it by USB. The size of the mouse is great for my hands which I think they are regular sized. Confortable and smooth materials make it a great partner for whatever you use it and when speed or precision are required for gaming it has responded really good. I cannot tell yet if the battery last a good amount, but so far I am also happy on that front. I would recommend it to anyone ... show more

  • Pretty Good, but missing features from older models
Style: Gladius II Core (Wired) Color: Black
I'm starting to get into ROG stuff entirely. My last mouse was the ROG GX950 and I was disappointed that it wasn't available anymore. So, I got this. The next best thing. And it does it's job well. I like the AuraSync features and it's pretty comfortable. The scroll wheel in particular feels very nice. I still preferred my last mouse. By upgrading I lost the ability to control the weight of the mouse with small weights I could add or remove as I wanted, I lost the much taller left side and now accidentally hit the back/forward buttons frequently, and that left side isn't as rugged as I would like it (too smooth). I also liked being able to adjust the DPI by a wide range of numbers, rather than 4 preset settings. Outside of those, it's just as good. It is definitely gonna be my mouse for a ways to come! ... show more

  • Solid buy, if a bit pricey,
Style: Gladius II Origin (Wired) Color: Black
I ended up going with this mouse namely because I wanted to fill out my RoG build, and the quality looked to be quite good. Not to mention, Aura is a complete crapshoot with non-Asus hardware (at least in my experience), and given that I'm trying to get my son into gaming with me a bit, the RGB controls are nifty. Pros: * Solid and well built - I've had none of the issues other reviewers mentioned that required them to move the the stronger/beefier switches. I don't know if this is because I don't really throw my mouse around a ton while gaming (I use fairly high DPI settings, so only minor movements are needed), or just because perhaps I got a 'newer' revision of some sort... But this thing has been solid as far as hardware is concerned * ACCURATE! - I play a lot of first and third person games, from RPGs to shooters, and I can't count the number of times with previous mice that I've ended up getting slaughtered because of an inaccurate sensor. Whether it's lifting the mouse and the sensor goes full berzerker mode, or quickly changing direction and the movement on screen isn't consistent with the movement of my hand, that kind of thing is infuriating. I've been using this mouse daily for ~3 weeks now, and haven't had a single instance that the sensor has let me down... If I fail/die, it's because I suck, not because my mouse didn't do what I told it to (kinda humbling in it's own right, to not having anything to blame my being terrible on but myself). * Detachable cable - I never even knew to think I needed a feature like this, let alone that I'd love it. The ability to leave the cable attached to the back of my PC (which is a complete pain to get to), take my mouse, and then connect it to my laptop while on the go is fantastic. I wish this feature was as common as the scroll wheel at this point - every mouse should have it. * Hefty weight, without feeling like something you should be bodybuilding with - I have fairly large hands, so it usually takes me a while to find a mouse that works for me. I've bought mice before that had 'adjustable weights', and these always just ended up feeling gimmicky to me... Let alone the issues that can arise if you're regularly adjusting the weights in them (such as plastic retention tabs breaking and the like). * 'Ooohhhh puuuurdy' - It looks snazzy. This is probably the lowest 'pro' in my book, as I'm mostly function over form, but for those going for a 'complete' Asus Aura build, this thing works out perfectly. The Aura software is... well, not great. But the Gladius' RGB functionality with the software, as well as the rest of the Asus components in my machine, are fantastic. Cons: * Size - This isn't the kind of mouse that people with smaller hands are going to enjoy using. It seems to be made specifically for Right handed people, with great big ol maws for hands. Keep in mind that I hold my mouse with the 'claw' (I guess - recommend googling it if you're unfamiliar with how different mice grips look) grip, so if you hold your mouse differently, your mileage may vary. For reference, my 5'2" wife tried to use it, hated it enough that she refused to play anything because 'I can't grip this stupid thing'. * Provided cables - both cables are relatively stiff, at least as far as mice cables go. The longer of the two is braided and feels like high quality, while the shorter feels more on the flimsy side. It works fine for me, as again, I don't tend to move the mouse a ton given my DPI settings. The more distance you regularly cover with your mouse while gaming though, the more likely you are to notice the stiffness of the provided cable * The Price - In my eyes, this mouse is a solid by at about $70 bucks. The MSRP, however, seems to be closer to $90, with some places selling it for closer to $100 (one company, whose big blue and yellow name we shall not mention, is even listing this thing at $115! ... ugh.). At this price, unless you really NEED a mouse of this size to have comfort in using it AND 'need' (because really, calling this a 'need' is a bit absurd) Aura sync, you *might* be better off looking at something along the lines of a Razer DeathAdder Elite. I had a very specific design in mind when I picked out this mouse. For me and for what I wanted, it was ideal. That will not be the case for everyone, which is why I rated it at 4 stars, but hopefully the information above can help someone else in making their own choices too - I wished there were more thorough reviews when I made my purchase for many items, and I guess it's about time I started leaving them myself! ... show more
