I've had this laptop almost a month now. Have not used it extensively, it was bought to replace a much larger, heavier Lenovo with a 5400 RPM. Too slooooooooooow, so off to the grandkid it goes... I figured out that for doing database work, the hard drive is really, really important. Saw this one with the 500GB SSD and knew it was what I wanted. Although the upgrade to 16GB or RAM was tempting, I felt like 8 would be fine since I'm not gaming and so on. I already have a half dozen devices with my fingerprint smudges on them so the touch screen was not necessary and I felt it was a good trade-off to not have that in favor of memory and SSD. I also have not played with the camera, I usually try and keep all that stuff turned off since I don't need to use it. It's pretty snappy. Battery life is phenomenal, haven't really had to worry yet about running out of power, only charging it very infrequently. The display is crisp and bright. Some complained about the keyboard, no issues for me yet. The Delete key by the power button is also a non-issue for me. The Harmon Kardon sound system is plenty loud enough and I'm hearing impaired, so no demerits there either. It was kind of at the top end of what I wanted to spend, but I am happy with my purchase. Incredibly lightweight, it's be much easier to travel with than that 16" Lenovo. Very early still, especially since it's not my main computer, but likin' it so far. The TomToc carrying case is a nice if you're into accessorizing. And Amazon was, as usual, spot on with Next Day delivery. UPDATE - I forgot to mention the fingerprint reader and the micro SD Card reader. Those are two features that I've ended up using a lot and appreciate having them available at this price point. I've had this laptop for a couple months now. Overall, it is a great computer, I love it. The only thing I might dislike is the touch pad. It glitches once and a while and it can be frustrating. When I say glitches, I mean that the cursor lags and jumps when I am trying to move it, sometimes leading it to click on things I didn't want to click on. Although this is the case, I can deal with it because everything else is excellent. I love the touch/fingerprint sensor to unlock the computer. Been using it for a few weeks now and I really really love it. It is great for moderate use for college. Could use more battery life but its a 13" laptop so I know they've done their best. Light but solid. Fast and responsive. I bought it for college work and carrying it around campus and it works great. Might be able to play light games but I haven't tried. Pretty solid and great quality feeling. I recommend it to my classmates and will probably buy the same model in the future. I have many ASUS products and have had bad experience with their customer service. Products are great when they work but its really difficult to get help when they fail so keep that in consideration. -1 star for that. ... show more

Very nice; elegant. UX331FA. This is not a touch screen device. It is a notebook pc. Very happy with this so far (1 month). Light and slender form factor; lighter than hubbie's surface pro. Fast, very quiet, everything works as stated. Beautiful display. Works very well with Zoom, etc. It's a windows 10 OS, so we cope with all that implies according to user skill set - bloatware and so forth. I have a mouse habit; so the trackpad doesn't affect my use. It clicks just slightly, if that tells you anything; plain and simple, no number pad, etc. I find the speakers to be adequate. My old Asus Zenbook developed a motherboard problem, and Amazon had a great price on this one. It was the easiest transition I've ever made from one computer to another. The data ported over easily. The size and weight are comparable, and all the keyboard keys are in the right places. This one has a fan and my old one didn't, but I don't hear it most of the time, and the processor is definitely much faster. The fingerprint sensor is an absolute pleasure. The sound is better than on my old one but still a little on the soft side. I'm having some mild issues on the touchpad, but that might just be because I haven't fully configured it yet. If your looking for a good, small laptop for college I can recommend you this one. The battery life is pretty nice, there is enough ram, good enough storage for school, and it is small and compact so it can easily fit inside of your backpack. My only complaint is that the touchpad sometimes glitches out, that's the only problem I had with it over 9 months of use. It glitches out about once every 5 hours of use I would say, my roommate has the same laptop and it has the exact same touchpad problem, I am assuming it is on every model. The problem is obviously non-existent if you use a mouse. ... show more
