This is a nice computer for normal duty. I will not buy another computer on-line again as it is hard to distinguish between all the features. Need to read very carefully what features you want or don't want as you will likely not be able to return it.

*update: I’ve had this laptop for 2.5 years now and I hate it. It drops WiFi bandwidth constantly, the config settings are often opaque or missing, the trackpad matte coating wore off, and it runs way too hot. Save your money and buy something else. —- I bought this laptop 7 months ago when my previous ASUS (a beloved workhorse which I’d had for 8 years and was finally starting to slow down) took a nasty fall. I read the other reviews that said this model is not a particularly impressive machine and I thought, “That can’t be true, my old ASUS was so great!” Reader, it was true. There is simply nothing to write home about with this laptop. The pros: it has a lot of disk storage and runs fast enough for regular tasks. It’s okay for light gaming if you drop your graphics quality a bit. The cons: I have spent more time in the command prompt than I care to admit, trying to recreate settings my old laptop had out of the box. The charger gets wildly hot, the fans run hot and always seem to be on, and the battery also gets warmer than I’d prefer if you’re using it while plugged in. All in all, my takeaway is I’m going to keep it because it’s “good enough”, but there’s no compelling reason to buy this particular laptop, and for the money I probably could have gotten a similar, less temperamental machine if I hadn’t been set on an ASUS. :/ ... show more

I bought this for my wife. It worked for 4 months and now it seems to be overheating. U can turn the laptop on but wen u go to shut it down it looks like it has shut down but the fan is still running and it is warm to the touch on the bottom of the laptop were u plug in the power. I assume its still running on the battery because fan continuously runs even when u unplug the power after a supposed shut down. The only way to turn it off is to hold the power button till it goes off. It eorked for only 4 months from July 2023 to Nov 2023. It was our first Asus laptop. Im not impressed but when it worked she liked it. Maybe its just a bad cheap part. ... show more
