Yes, it's literally a sheet of plastic that probably cost a penny to make, but it works well. This wide version has a hard time fitting under the saddle, and also doesn't fold up like the road version, but it was adequate protection on a wet commute home.

You can’t really beat this price. Plus my Trek Stache 5 does not have fender mounts so this is the only way to get one. It is just bigger than my 3.0 inch tire, so I don’t think it would be full coverage for a fat bike, but without a fender mount this is what you want. I am also planning on using it on my road bike. It does have a rear fender mount but for the rare time I ride in the rain this will work great. If only they made one in Celeste... ... show more

This wide fender worked for my 650B 47C gravel tire. It does not cover completely. but it is enough for someone who wants to attach for the rainy day only. It fits for Brooks B17 too.

I had the first generation of ass savers that lasted 2 years before it broke. For the price versus the time it lasted it’s awesome! I bought this one and used it for one rain storm and someone stole it off my bike! I’ve already bought another one and I’m sure to remove it when it’s not in use. This version is much better (and larger) than the original and no matter whic one you choose it’s easily installed/removed and takes no space to store. ... show more

    • They Work If You Can Get It To Stay Put

UPDATE: just lost this July 19. only the 3rd time i have used it. and every single time i did, it fell from the bike and i either had to pack or carry it in my hand while riding (without a pack). was doing a terrific job keeping recent hard rains in puddles on the Wakefield Park trails from splashing my butt. but when i got splashed, i felt around for it and sure enough, it had once again parted from the bike. I doubled back but did not find it anywhere. this company needs to reimburse not due to the time i had it but the fact it NEVER stayed put and eventually was lost. if you think of it in terms of time, i literally only got approx. 13 minutes use. that's utter BS for the price. do not buy! These slide into place and your supposed to be3nd the tip so that it stays secure under the saddle. But the fact is, they NEVER stay put. So, are these fine if in a pinch of bad rain where you need to sit with a dry bottom upon arrival at your destination, maybe. But if you expect this to stay put over city street bumps or single track, as a rear fender, think again. I have to turn around and go back after in now matter how secure it feels upon installation. They do block a considerable amount of water and keep you dry when they stay put, but I cannot keep investing in them only to lose them every single use. ... show more
