    • Horrifically terrible coil whine
It's common for GPU's to have something called coil whine when undergoing intensive tasks such as rendering or gaming (Even PSU's have this). However this GPU has the absolute worse case of it I have ever heard in my life and I have owned plently of GPU's both from AMD and Nvidia, both used and brand new. The coil whine on this card was so bad that it was louder than my pair of Edifier desktop speakers. While it is probably an issue specific to my particular unit, there is a chance that the seller will end up just accepting my return (Which they thankfully have) and turning around and selling it as "used" or "open box". Knowing this particular card is still prob out there is enough for me to tell you to look at another 7800 XT listing instead. ... show more

    • So far, so good...at rendering 4K60P video
I built a new system as my ten year old build was not capable of editing and rendering video easily. I picked this midrange Radeon RX7800XT graphics card because it came recommended for 4K60P video editing, and a top Intel CPU with a lot of memory and fast PCIe gen 5 m2 SSD card. Happy to say that despite some very slight choppiness (which is the bane of video editors), I can now edit and preview a video at full resolution and see it in real time with no delays. In addition, with the right settings, the GPU in the Radeon allows me to render the video in nearly realtime (one minute of rendering per minute of video). So I'm very pleased with this setup so far. In the future I might look at liquid cooling but, so far, the fans are quiet yet keep the graphics card running safely below any critical operating temperature limit.     • Was great, then kept dying
Everything initially about the card was great, amazing performance. Although shortly after playing a couple of games it kept giving me a black screen, so I switched PSU’s just in case it was a power issue, but it kept happening. If you purchase refurbished, there’s a chance the card could be dying.

Summary: I'm happy now, but I had to return the first one I received. The card I originally received performed fine but was running very high hotspot temperatures, 30°C above main GPU temperature. I was concerned about that, so I contacted ASRock customer support. After a couple of emails back and forth, they agreed to replace the card. I had to ship it back on my own dime, but to ASRock's credit, they immediately sent me a replacement card and I only went 6 days without a GPU, which is remarkably fast turnaround. The temperatures on the new card are much better (20°C delta), so I'm happy now. Pros: I had no issues with installation, setup, or stability (fully AMD system with 7800X3D CPU). The card looks pretty cool installed. The replacement card I received runs relatively cool and quiet at default settings. Cons: The first one I received was running hot, so I ended up having to return it for a replacement. Also, the fans get significantly noisier if you increase the max fan speed by even a little bit. ... show more

This was a used video card, which I purchased by mistake. I wasn't paying attention to the new/used status, chose this one and clicked buy. It came well-padded and in an anti-static bag. There were no cables included. The card worked fine on first use and has continued to work fine through powered cycling, etc. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, but like the title, so far,so good. ... show more
