  • Best GPU for the pricing of a mid-range tier card.
Style: A770 Phantom Gaming 16GB OC
I've upgraded from the 5700 XT, which has held down its fort perfectly for the last 5 years. After running one of many tests and seeing how well AMD was able to optimize its GPU via FSR and its improved rendering capabilities was what kept me with them for years, but I have now upgraded to this Intel Arc A770 GPU and there is a significant difference between the two. Granted the architecture of the two are years apart, so it is an unfair comparison, but the addition of Ray-tracing and how it adds another layer of descriptive graphic details to your experience as gamer is something that appears to be under-valued. There has been several generations of RT cores and its Ray-tracing capabilities, but I don't believe I've ran into a review that truly explains the differences of the two. After watching and testing several games with the 5700 XT and seeing it's max potential, I was able to see new graphical features that were not present with the 5700 XT, but are with the Arc A770. I don't believe anyone has explained how ray-tracing does change the overall appearance of the gamings atmosphere via different levels of graphic details, better details in reflections, and just added graphics that is not there without Ray tracing. One simple example, let me bring up an old game without ray-tracing, like Monster Hunter World running at 4k. Although the 5700 XT was able to run 4k and its highest settings with an average of 55 FPS, when you zoom up to the characters face, you can see the pixelated details to the drawings of the individuals face, but when you zoom up in Arc A770, you can actually see the sheen that reflects off of the characters face, which appears to be well-moisturized face. That one difference is clearly there and then there's more, but there's too much to describe. Anyhow, based on value, this has to be one of the best budget GPU's out here for the money with near top-tier performance. There are some minor issues with it though, and hopefully through better optimization, drivers, and application formats with better data set features, this GPU will unleash its full potential. The package came in without any damage and the box was in perfectly good, new condition. Thanks. ... show more

  • Excellent hardware acceleration GPU for a media server
Style: A380 Challenger ITX 6GB OC
This is an excellent affordable option for Plex (or Jellyfin) hardware acceleration. I was previously running a budget Plex server with my main gaming rigs older parts (a third gen Ryzen CPU, and an old AMD Vega 56 GPU I threw together.) Replacing the Vega with this is practically a night and day difference in terms of transcoding and encoding performance. I didn't want to shell out the money for a newer gen Intel QuickSync CPU + the motherboard it would require that is often recommended. This was far more affordable than the Nvidia GPU options as well, It also seems to get some better encoding/transcoding benchmarks as well. I will definitely be running this till the day it dies. I highly recommend this IF newer Intel CPU's aren't an option for you either for a media server. I can't attest to its gaming performance personally. ... show more

  • Great value 1080p card (update)
Style: A580 Challenger 8GB OC
It has been few days since i brought this to pair with my i5-12400F, but the performance is amazing for a 170$ card, over 170 fps on War Thunder (max settings) , 80+ fps on warzone on medium, rainbow six on custom settings (medium'ish settings) over 240 fps average, its a solid card that will run more than fine, and in the moment of this review they launched a new driver update, amazing card. Only "drawback" its it idle watt usage of 39-47w, but with aspm setting on bios can drop into the 25-31w idle. (update) on the current date of 9/5/2024 had a random flickering screen with a total black screen and total audio loss, could had been a driver issue as to be expected on a first gen product, just be aware of this issues on intel arc gpus ... show more

  • Great Value
Style: A580 Challenger 8GB OC
This card is a great value at this price. Used it with an Intel 10700f and it plays everything at 1080p with Medium settings or better. Even tweaked the settings to get Stalker 2 going at an acceptable rate on a widescreen monitor. I've not had any driver problems with games, and I've tried it with a number of them. Had a little trouble with video being scrambled after waking from sleep on the Displayports. HDMI is fine, so there's the easy work around. I don't know of a better deal at $170. ... show more

  • New card on the market. Driver issues with Windows 11 Pro.
Style: A380 Challenger ITX 6GB OC
I bought this card because the price was right as I was building a brand new PC for editing. I'm on a budget so I couldn't go way overboard on a really really expensive video card. I needed just enough of a good card for video editing to offset my CPU for video processing. So far so good. However, at the beginning there are many challenges. I have Windows 11 Pro and when I installed the card and tried doing the initial setup the video would not display on a regular monitor. The only way I could get the display on the monitor was to force Windows 11 into safe mode and in low resolution mode. After frustrating myself, I decided to take the card out and reseed it but that didn't help. So I ended up downloading the drivers off of Intel's website. Once I installed all of the drivers off of the executable that I downloaded after rebooting the video card worked fine. This card is new and has its challenges in the driver part. But so far I'm very happy. The card is super super quiet. ... show more
