  • Awesome Board with an Intuitive BIOS
At the time of purchase there were few reviews on the B450 Steel Legend, I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. After a minor issue with the system not posting (see below), it's been a great board to work with since. The look of this board is awesome, it's minimal and clean with a nice use of digital camo print, steel accents, and RGB. It's a fresh take compared to other gaming MOBOs on the market. (See photo for example of RGB.) The BIOS is easy to navigate and comes with some great out of the box tools. Of note, the fan control and built in RGB tools means no need for extra background tasks in your OS. My only problem was the system not posting after finishing my build. It was an easy fix that required clearing the CMOS, and it's been stable since. This board has been a joy to work with and I have had no other issues. If you're on the fence, I recommend the Tech Yes City video review for a more in depth look at what this board has to offer. ... show more

  • Compatible and Desktop Ready with AMD RYZEN 3000
Like many people, I was searching for a decent motherboard compatible with Ryzen 3000. Well, this is it. The B450 Steel Legend (as well as the Micro ATX version, B450M) should come updated out of the box if you purchase new from Amazon Services. If you are hesitant to purchase this board, don't worry. So far, it has worked perfectly with my Ryzen 7 3800X and EVGA 2070 XC Ultra. Despite the subpar VRM and only using the Wraith Prism, my CPU temperatures only fluctuate between 50-60s during gaming with only two case fans from my NZXT H510. And everything has been perfectly cool during my gaming sessions. I don't even think I've gone over 75 degrees yet. Overall, the B450 Steel Legend is a good, affordable motherboard to get your Ryzen 3000 working out of the box. And having a PCI-E STEEL SLOT and single RAM retention clip/lock is a nice touch when using a big graphics card. Furthermore, I have not had any problems with the ASRock RGB software and the BIOS layout is very simple and direct. The B450 has been extremely easy to work with and build on. However, if you are expecting more premium features from this board, you should look elsewhere. For the price though, it is a great deal! Note: If you’re planning to use the Wraith Prism, I recommend adjusting the fan curves or purchasing another cooler if you want a silent experience out of the box. It does the job but with a little too much noise for my taste. ... show more

  • Amazon Warehouse Used. Had a few issues at first but now board is working beautifully.
Got this board from Amazon Warehouse used in "Good" condition and so far it's great. The box was open but the board came in prestine condition and included all items and packaging (even though the description said it was missing bonus items, idk why). It was a bit unstable at first, and wouldn't run my RAM at XMP speeds until I updated the bios(idk why Asrock recommends Pinnacle Ridge users to not update to latest bios, it fixed all of my stability issues and I have a Ryzen 2600)... The RGB was bugging out as well, but that was fixed by re-flashing the RGB firmware to the board using Command Prompt and a tool included in Polychrome's file directory. So it wasn't smooth sailing at first, but everything is running smooth as butter now and I'm happy with the purchase. Only downside is Polychrome in general is just trash. I highly recommend just uninstalling it and going into the bios if you want to change the RGB lighting settings. Also I see some people complaining about their RGB not turning off when the computer is off... there's a setting to make it turn off in the bios under "On Board Devices". ... show more

  • Great motherboard for the money.
Stable and solid so far. This board is cheap and makes a good replacement board without breaking the bank. Running a 5600x on it and it is flying. good amount of usb ports and looks pretty good. only thing I don't much like the is the lighting software but everything else lights up and works fine in my system so it's not really that important. great board and good features for a good price. ... show more

  • 3000 ready
AMD Ryzen 3000 Ready sticker on box, which means if you place a 3rd gen chip on this board, it should work just fine without any bios update, if you buy it new that is... If you buy used, you might have an older board which isn't compatible with 3rd gen and will need a bios update. Fortunately, mine came with this 3rd gen ready sticker on box. Unfortunately, all of my pc parts haven't come in yet, so I'll have to wait a bit longer to see if all works well. Its a beautiful motherboard at a fairly decent price point. You can't get a better deal on a b450 mobo unless you buy a mATX board. Edit: PC is working fine, this mother board is running a ryzen 5 3600 with no problems at all. ran HWmonitor and GPUz to look at temps, no problems there. About what I would expect from the dinky stock cooler that comes with the cpu. No bios update was necessary. Also for those complaining about the passive rgb, switch your pc off at the back after powering it down if it annoys you so much. personally, I find it cool to look at. ... show more

  • Used this motherboard in my first PC build
Motherboard is really nice looking and has some rgb in certain areas which makes the motherboard standout. It fit my case perfectly and comes with some extras in the box like a dvd to install drivers etc. 10/10
