  • Working Well So Far. Please Do Some Reading Before Purchase.
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
Please read up on "Asrock AM5 x3d failures" before purchasing this board as of April 2026. I purchased this to replace a MSI Tomahawk that was supposed to be "the one" to get. I was unfortunate to come across a very rare manufacturing defect on that purchase. This board has been solid so far. Instantly new it was better than my previous board. Much more responsive. Asrock Bios is about the same as its been since SandyBridge. After going to UEFI their bios have been pretty decent. AM5 Memory training is slow, but I think that's fairly universal. The onboard CPU temp is a nice touch. It takes over the error LED readout after boot. MOBO has a power button it. Very cool for Troubleshooting or a DIY test bench without a button (i'll get around to it). ... show more

  • Took two boards to get one that works
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
I previously purchased this board as new from Newegg. But I could not get it to post. Just a 4d error at every powerup. It also would not do a flash bios. After spending hours troubleshooting with different ram, USB sticks etc decided to return the board to Newegg. Installed this one from Amazon and it seems to be working perfectly. No 4d errors on post and it updated the bios on the first attempt. Either Newegg or ASRock have some quality control issues. ... show more

  • Great board for the money
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
I have a number of ASRock boards including the B650E Taichi and they have all been great. They can train a bit long with DDR5 on initial boot but just be aware of it. This board has the bifurcated x8/x8 slots and that's why I bought, to run dual GPUs. I'm not running any of the 9000 series processors but i have updated the the latest BIOS that is suppose of address the issue with that series. I encourage you read as many review as you can to get a sense of what you're buying and i feel this is a great board for the money. ... show more

  • Defective Board + Region-Locked Warranty ! Avoid for International Buyers
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
Bought the ASRock X870E Taichi Lite from Amazon and it failed after a normal shutdown. System stopped posting completely (debug codes F3 → 4F → 03). Full troubleshooting done: BIOS flashback, CMOS reset, RAM swap, minimal boot, CPU reseat. No recovery. The CPU used on this board was later replaced by AMD under RMA, and they indicated the motherboard could be the cause. After switching to a different motherboard (MSI X870E Tomahawk), the system worked perfectly with the same components. Issue confirmed isolated to this ASRock board. Major problem: ASRock warranty is region-locked. If you are outside the US/Canada, they will refuse RMA unless you provide a US address. That makes the warranty effectively useless for international buyers. This is not my first experience with ASRock failure. I had a previous ASRock Intel Z steal legion board ( for i9-10900K ) that also died and had no practical support option. End result: defective board + unusable manufacturer warranty. Thanks Amazon handled the refund for an exception, but the product itself is not reliable and support is limited depending on your region. Conclusion: AVOID THIS MOB if you are outside supported regions or expect proper warranty support. ... show more

  • Works as expected
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
Bought the Taichi Lite X870e to replace a damaged MSI Carbon MPG (my preference). I got this because it was difficult to replace the Carbon at a sensible price or purchase the regular Taichi near list price. Simply put both of these boards are of superior construction compared to the Lite. Nonetheless, my computer is stable with Crucial Pro RAM 96GB (2x48GB), 9900X, Thermalright PS120SE air cooler, Corsair RM1000x PSU, and Samsung 980 PRO 2TB. Light overclocking using PBO and Expo. Buy the right RAM to avoid issues. The ASRock BIOS is excellent as usual. Linux users: I am running Proxmox 8.3 (Debian based) but using a USB to ethernet adapter until the on-board ethernet port is supported by kernel 6.xx or ASRock steps up. Another reviewer reported similar problems with the on-board ethernet port, so the issue is well known. I like this board. Just don't pay exorbitant prices to scalpers. ... show more

  • Overclocking Heaven
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
24+2+1 power stages means there is almost no voltage fluctuation. This even fit into a regular ATX case, I just had to run most of the fans from the front instead of the side so I could put the cabling through there to the back. It has everything any regular gamer could possibly need in terms of m2 (ssd) slots, and there's no current need for anyone not actually rendering games/movies on their own to have more than 32mb of RAM across two sticks at 30CL, so even that is plenty. It has just enough USB ports of varying types for anything but the most extensive setups, and even then you could use splitters. Really, this is the top of the line cream of the crop of motherboards for serious gamers. With that said, if you're not running top of the line equipment and trying to overclock, this STILL can be worthwhile as an insurance policy for your expensive components. Definitely be sure to get a GPU physical arm support as there are no secondary attachments for any single PCIE port cards. Realistically, if you're not spending >$400 on your CPU/GPU, you don't need this, you don't even need a mobo over $150, but when you're spending almost $2k on the rest of your components, definitely consider this over any other mobo on the market if only for the incredibly longevity it can give to a CPU with that many power stages regulating the voltage. ... show more

  • Good value. great features. Solid board. Amazing audio.
Size: EATX Style: Taichi Lite
Solid board. Very heavy. Had to buy a new case to support the EATX form factor, so make sure you have the right case for this board. Barely room to install a large CPU heat sink/fan but worked with the one I have (Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Cooler). One big noticeable difference from my previous build is the audio. The Sabre ESS 9219 DAC brought much more clarity to the sound output. Tidal hi-res tracks sound much better (clearer and darker). ... show more
