Light is small compact and easy to use. It's definitely designed for lower under shelf or cabinet applications. My intention was to use the light above a window in our kitchen that is kinda dark during the night hours. It isn't quite bright enough in that application. If it's put under a cabinet or shelf it works really well. I'll probably buy a bit bigger/brighter light for what I need. Under our cabinet it works well and is very bright. Has a USB plug end. I bought one prior and it did not work on a timer you had to reach in the cabinet to turn it back on every time, THIS ONE YOU CAN SET THE DIM OR BRIGHT AND USE A TIMER ONCE SET YOU DONT HAVE TO TOUCH IT THE TIMER DOES IT. The media could not be loaded. I needed some light for when I'm at my desk, but I don't have that much room on my desk where I need the light. Since I have a shelf on my wall above the desk, I thought these would be nice. I love how easy it was to install and that I can adjust the brightness (high, medium, low) to my needs. Nice light - 3-brightness levels - perfect! I installed it under my computer desktop bookcase. PROBLEMs (3): 1: The double sticky, stick pads were useless for me !!! After a few hours the LED light assembly fell off, crashing on to the desktop, still working so far. The adhesive tape remained sticking to the light but the foam pad and opposite sticky tape remained under the bookshelf. SOLUTION: Used the metal brackets after two modifications. Drilled mounting screw holes, then had to flatten them to mount BECAUSE magnets are ONLY on the back. --- see pic of modifications. 2: On the brightness level, the lamp gets VERY HOT, but not fire levels, thus it weakened the adhesive. 3: switch is to far away from the lamp. RECOMMEND: A: Cut lamp cord about 5-10 cm from lamp (make pigtail). B: Add a USB gender connector (same as is used on the USB power transformer) to lamp pigtail. C: Add a USB connector to existing cord with the switch assembly 5-7 cm from it's end. (both ends of cord with same USB connector) This way, the user can install the switch either close to the lamp OR near the USB power plug. That's my free engineering advice for today... :-) ... show more
