I decided to level my lawn because it was way too bumpy and had dead spots where I wanted to overseed. I researched leveling rakes until I found this one, which I feel is the perfect one for the price. You want two things in a lawn leveling rake. First, you want one that’s lightweight because you don’t want to wear yourself out using a heavy rake. This rake has a fiberglass handle (one-piece, which was important to me for durability), and a stainless steel blade that is rust resistant. Second, you want wide blade or base to better level your lawn. I bought 36 inch base. I believe this to be a good compromise between leveling and not pushing too much topsoil or sand with a wider base, which would just wear you out. ... show more

Completely satisfied with this purchase. It's a quality tool that I expect to last for years. If you've been reading reviews on these you probably know that there's a lot of imported junk out there. This is not one of those thinly constructed knockoffs. It's a solid and safe choice. That said, I did make one modification just to be safe. Reviews of similar-looking but I believe thinner tools suggest that fail point is where the handle attaches to the leveling head. Users report the metal bending. To better distribute force and eliminate the pinch point I attached four flange washers. (see pic 2) I don't believe the mod was necessary on this model (again, this one is very sturdy) but I like having it there all the same. ... show more
