  • GET A CASE
Don’t but this without a case, doing so was my best decision and this thing is so pretty and smooth and just all around easy to use. Even as a beginner this keyboard was perfect for me.

  • Great device, but little documentation and few tutorials to help you with it.
Very sturdy, well built controller. Basic use is almost as simple as plug n play, but figuring out how to get the knobs to interface with my DAW and its various synths was not intuitive or easy (using Reaper here), and there is not a lot of good documentation out there for this device. So the first couple days of use were frustrating. But, I was eventually able to figure it out, and the thing is like a little tank compared to most MIDI controllers in this price range, really a beautiful and solid little piece of equipment. The keys feel just right, not too tense or loose. Touch responsiveness is about what you’d expect — no deep nuanced subtlety, but ok for basic quiet/middle/loud variations on notes during play. Overall I’m pleased with my choice and would purchase from Arturia again. (The device comes with some kind of synth software; it’s okay but it is a neutered “lite” version of the real thing and an upsell for their software packages, I didn’t bother with it much.) ... show more

  • There’s a new Mk3 out
There’s a new Mk 3 that is a new version that has different controls. I decided to buy this because i like the 16 encoders, which is eight more than the Mk 3. Tho the Mk 3 has better Ableton Live integration, from what the reviews say. Hey, for the money, this is a great controller in a field with great options. I’m talking about the Novation and Akai 25 key midi controllers. I have the Akai controller and I prefer the Arturia, tho the pads on the Akai are nicer. That joystick on the Akai is so bad, it’s almost unusable. ... show more

  • Arturia for value and quality.
This thing is built beautifully and very strong. So handy to pull out and play around in Analog Lab. Came with the Stage 73V electric piano and the Mini synth; the two of these retail for $150 apiece. I was so impressed with the quality that I went ahead and got the Keylab61 MkII, which I love as well. I'm giving the rest of my midi keyboards to the local JC soon. Super satisfied! ... show more
