Pattern Name: Artsian 01 CNC Router Machine
The media could not be loaded. The WizMaker Artisan 01 CNC Machine is very complex. Fortunately they included detailed instructions, configuration settings, and assembly instructions. Packaging is very compact, no wasted space while losing no packaging integrity. It is a little heavy and bulky so be careful when moving it and setting up. The overall machine is very well assembled. The metal frame is very strong with very nice "snap-to-fit" framework when assembling. The electrical components seem well-built, allowing for additional ports for laser engraving attachments. Very much needed with a machine such as this one is the emergency stop button which has worked so far in my limited testing. (Initially it may be engaged when you turn the CNC on, which will throw an error code. Once it's disengaged the red light on the front will turn green) ----------------------------------------- A few small issues I encountered early on: The Candle file was missing a subfile (and a corrupted subfile) so I had to find the opensource file online (incidentally it was a newer version compared to what was on the USB drive) A couple PDF files were corrupted for some reason, not a huge deal as the website contained the PDF files as well as software files provided by WizMaker You'll need to use a free software if you don't have a software like Fusion360 to convert CAD files to GCODE for machining. I'm using FreeCAD which works so far (converting a basic Tinkercad STL file to GCODE) The only bits that come with it are engraving bits, however you will need a milling bits to locate centers of the work space Again, these are very small issues that just took a little time to work with and figure out. ----------------------------------------- The CNC plate contains attachment holes for mounting and securing material for engraving, milling, or laser engraving. Very nice layout that allows for ease when squaring material to the bed. Obviously if you want to add custom jigs, attachment will be a lot easier with the threaded holes. For centering, it can be loose or precise. Loose measurements with the handheld controller can be done when there's excess material or rough cut edges. When possible though, precision should be the go to. Once you center your work space, you can just follow the detailed instructions in the Operation Guide. Both Test Examples cut very well. I was able to offset the center after the first cut to cut the second example without moving the wood. Very nice piece of machinery with tons of applications, very-well built and precise. Definitely would recommend it for personal workshops, especially at this price. Excellent value. I'll be keeping an eye on future attachments from Wizmaker as well as making some custom 3D printed attachments.

The media could not be loaded. This Artisan 01 CNC by Wizmaker is a great entry to intermediate level CNC machine! Normally I don't give a lot of 5 stars for reviews, but this CNC is a game changer for the price. Here are my thoughts on this machine's build quality and performance. What I Liked: This Artisan 01 CNC was packaged very well and 95% pre-assembled! All that needed done was attach the gantry with 8 screws, attach the drag chain, the spindle bracket and spindle, connect 4 cables, plug in the handheld controller and power and it was done! 10-15 minutes assemble time tops! The unit as a whole is built very well. All the parts were high quality and heavy duty. From the gantry to the bed and linear rails, there wasn't anything cheaply made. The bed area is 420mm x 420mm (400mm Usable) for the X & Y axis travel and Z axis has a 90mm travel. This is a linear drive system on all X Y & Z Axis' opposed to a belt driven system on other manufactures at this price range. This also comes with a 300w 12000 RPM spindle (others in this price range only comes with a 60w spindle). With this being a linear drive, it performs smoother and in my opinion more precise where a belt drive would have a tendency to slip. The 300w spindle motor runs amazingly quiet and seems to have enough power even when cutting with a 1/4" shaft 1/2"-90 degree V-Bit. This is plenty of power to carve hard woods, acrylic, and soft metals. There are a supply of 6 1/8" shaft V-Bits that comes with it also. - Note: the spindle only comes with a 1/8" collet for 1/8" shaft bits, to use 1/4" shaft bits you'll need to purchase a 1/4" ER11 collet. The handheld controller is a nice touch, it give you basic functions to move the X Y & Z axis, power up the spindle and set its speed, and uses a standard HDMI cable (comes with a short HDMI coiled cord). The control box was already mounted and pre wired. It has accommodations for the Z-probe, and other controls. There is a button to select from CNC to Laser. Though I haven't seen a laser option accessory available for it. There is also a 500w spindle upgrade and rotary attachment to carve cylindrical shapes. The system is GRBL compatible and the included flash drive has Candle software to run the machine along with the manual and some test carve files (you'll need to supply the wood). I use UGS (Universal G-Code Sender free download software) to control the machine and it works very well. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- What I Would Like To See Changed or Added: The handheld remote has a small screen, it would have been nice to have a bigger screen and directional buttons to move the X Y and Z axis. But it does function well for what it does. Or instead of a wired unit, Bluetooth would have been better. It only comes with 1/8" collet and limits you to use only 1/8" shaft bits. I would have liked to see a 1/4" collet included in addition to use 1/4" shaft bits. Though the above are minimal, it's still a 5 star machine. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Issues I encountered: The only issue I had was with the Y axis worm drive screw that controls the forward / backward motion of the gantry. The lubricant that was used was very sticky and tacky. This caused the Y axis to bind in different areas, stop and showed an error code on the remote screen. After cleaning it and reapplying a coat of machine oil, it solved the issue and the Y axis performed as it should. Other than that and putting the machine through a vigorous testing period, there were no other issues whatsoever! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conclusion: For a CNC machine at this caliber, build quality, linear rails on all axis' and price, this Wizmaker Artisan 01 is something to consider. Would I recommend it? ABSOLUTLY YES! For the price and quality you won't be disappointed!
