I purchased two of these lamps for my bedroom. They came very quickly and were packaged beautifully. When we unwrapped them, they were exactly as a I imagined they would be. They are sturdy and I love that they are "touch" lamps with three different "touch settings. They came with the bulbs and needless to say, were easy to put assemble -- put in the bulb and plug in the lamp!!! Very solid made lamp for our bedroom. Takes up little space but is very stable. Touch lamp has 3 settings that work great. Nice simple design. Not glaring light.

UPDATE 06/2017: The mfg warns this lamp can get very hot. It uses type D bulbs, max 40 watts. I put in 25w bulbs as we didn't need a strong light. BUT – in less than two years the lamp began to burn itself out. First one side began flickering. Took me a while to disentangle it from where we had it, but when I did so I found BOTH bulbs had brown "burnt" spots on the top, closest to the shade. The issue is this design has the bulbs set very high, almost touching the heavy glass shade. There is no reason to; could easily have designed so bulbs sit an inch lower, without showing. Worse, the actual ceramic where the bulb screws in, clearly showed excessive heat damage. This is despite the fact the lamp was used for only 2-3 hrs per night. The ceramic became brittle and can be crumbled off with fingers (tried to take a photo but it didn't come out, sorry!). Both arms (that hold the bulbs sideways) show the same kind of damage/"burnt look" to the ceramic interior bulb housing, clear through to the bottom I am discarding this lamp and withdrawing our recommendation. It's a shame! It's truly beautiful and touch control works well. But I have to think this is not a safe design, and should be re-designed. ... show more

I looked all over for a contemporary-looking touch light for nightstands. I bought one of these as a trial and simply love it. No fumbling for a light switch when you're ready to call it a night. It has three settings of brightness. Low, medium and bright. A light tap cycles through and quickly turns off from the brightest setting--which isn't glaring. We just moved into a new house and I bought two more for the guest rooms. The only assembly is attaching the "shade" to the based with one simply interlocking screw. Looks lovely. ... show more

    • Beautiful, Perfect-Type Lamps
These are beautiful. I had a single, very similar-style lamp for the last 15-16 years or so and the thing still works and looks like new. I wanted a second one but couldn't find one just like it so I decided to just order a pair of these. These are classy, modern, and I love that they are narrow. I already had some candelabra LED bulbs that I've been using in the old touch lamp, so I used those instead of the included incandescent bulbs. They work, but on the lowest setting with these lamps, they flicker. I assume that the lowest setting provides just below the minimum power needed by the cheap bulbs in order to provide steady light. I tried the spare GE LED I had and there was no flicker. So avoid cheaper LED candelabra bulbs if the subtle flickering would bug you (it does me). The one problem I had with these is the chrome cap on one of the lamp shades was not seated properly into the glass shade, and was therefore crooked, and on the other lamps shade, the mounting bracket with the notches was crooked. I had to unscrew the brackets on both of them and loosen the nuts to reposition the brackets and cap so that the lamp shades would sit straight. I really shouldn't have to do this out of the box, so minus a star on the rating. It's an easy fix, though, and they're nice and straight now. ... show more

Love, Love, Love these lamps!!! They are beautiful and unique. It's true what the other reviews have said about the lamps getting VERY hot. So, I decided to get different bulbs and that solved the hot issue! Now they are cool/lukewarm to the touch. Easy to put together and packaged well! Pros: Good quality and design. Cons: It is convenient to replace regular bulbs with LED bulbs. I bought dimmable candelabra base LED bulbs 40W Equivalent, Daylight 300 lumens. They give a good illumination.
