I love the quality of the products but it just wasn't that fun. Seemed like you couldn't really create anything until all days were open. This being said, my daughter still uses all the products from the calendar. Also, they reached out and offered me a full refund which just makes me love this brand even more. We buy from them regularly. My daughter is a serious teen artist. this is the only brand I trust myself to buy because I know it will meet her standards. And it is quite possible that she has just outgrown advent calendars :) ... show more

The advent calendar is packaged very nicely. It is roughly 16 x 14 and contains 12 days. I opened up all of the 12 doors at once. The perforated doors were easy to open however getting the item out, even with the ribbon, was awkward. All of the boxes need to be opened to make the two ornaments and create little paintings/gift cards, paper ornaments……You collect all the supplies over 12 days and start creating on the 13th day. All of the supplies are for painting either by brush or paint pen. So definitely not for someone who does not like painting and/or does not want to try. There was not an idea book in the package or that I could find easily online using the QR code. I enjoyed the paint pens and used them more than the paints and brushes. The paints were a nice quality, not too thick or thin. I found the brushes to be oversized for the areas given to paint. They can be used for an all over color but will be difficult to use for details. I would have liked a white paint pen vs. the silver. As a note, when painting on wood, it is absorbent unless primed which can result in some bleeding when using the pens and may require extra paint coats if seeking an opaque look. I had lots of supplies left. I did not like the glitter. Given the scale of the grounds it was a little all or nothing (using glitter) since targeted application was difficult at best. I wish there were 4 total wood slices. I think this makes a good kit, but not an advent calendar. ... show more

I had high expectations for this advent calendar based on past reviews and price. However, my daughter who loves art in many forms, found this calendar to be very disappointing. She received several paint tubes in a row. After the fifth tube of paint she responded "another paint". I really thought there would be a variety of products to try. I would not recommend or ever buy again going forward. To open 5 out of 12 boxes and have them be paint... c'mon. ... show more

3.5 Stars This Advent calendar did inspire a brust of creativity. However, I hated the acrylic paints in this kit. They we way too thick, and transparent. Everything needed several coats of paint, which ruined my zen moment. Loved the paint markers! I'll definitely be looking those up. All other arting items we good quality. ... show more

I am not sure I would get this again. Maybe the 24 day advent calendar is better. The items were very nice but it was mostly just paint and I thought there would be a variety of items in it to get to know the company and their products better.
