This rug is definitely as soft as people say it is and overall is very pretty! It is very thin though, so if you are putting it over hard flooring I highly recommend getting some kind of rug pad for underneath. I accidentally spilled some water on it and the water droplets just sat on the rug surface. It was super easy to clean it up and it wasn't even wet after. So that has been nice for little spills! My only compaint (and maybe it's just me?) is that NONE of my vacuum settings work with this rug - it just sucks the rug up into the vacuum. I've tried all the vacuum settings (from barefloor, up to super long shaggy carpet) and I tried with and without the rug pad - nothing works. So I have to disconnect the hose and use a handheld attachment to vacuum it, which is a little annoying but not the end of the world. ... show more

Don’t second guess yourself, just get it. My mom had a huge shag rug, with 3 dogs it got gross fast and I could constantly smell dog on the rug.. I talked her into getting one of these and she doesn’t regret it at all. It is so nice to be able to throw this in the wash whenever. I washed and dried it tonight, and it looks brand new. I can’t believe how fast it dried. This isn’t a super plush rug so keep that in mind but if you want something easy to wash because of kids or dogs - get it! ... show more

I have 3 of these rugs all different sizes in my home and I love them. I have washed our 3x5 one by our backdoor and our 5x7 multiple times due to dogs, dirt and overall day to day dirt and it is holding up well and comes out of the wash looking new. I love that they don't break the bank but are washable. my largest one I have not put into my washer yet I have scrubbed and power washed it outside over the summer with no issues. it cleaned up well and looks brand new. I definately plan on buying another and would highly recommend. they are soft and easy to clean and that was a win for me ... show more

I have pets and hardwood floors. Replaced a thicker shag rug with this and there are clearly trade offs for being able to machine wash this at home. This is not a “comfy get down on the floor and play” kind of rug, however, the shag was a pain to keep clean. If you’re looking for a machine washable, decent looking, lightweight rug - this is it. Pros: soft, looks good, decent price, really is machine washable in a regular washing machine with agitator, roomba vacuums it well. I wasn’t sure how well this rug was going to work, the packaging was deceving came in a small box. I was a little scared as to what I was getting. I needed something I could put into the washer. This rug feels like a blanket. I love it. Wasn’t very thick which is what I was looking for. The quality was much nicer than I thought it would be. This is my fifth Art&Tuft Rug. It feels great on your bare feet, and is super easy to clean(my roomba does a great job picking up loose dog hair). I really loved the price of getting something this size (9x12) for my bedroom. The low pile is great for not getting picked by dog nails, and then therefore snagged by vacuum and ruined. I would say the only downfall of these rugs are that you can't use a regular upright vacuum on them as they are so lightweight that the vacuum just sucks them up, but the beauty and non slip makes up for it though. I have 2 dogs that do "zoomies" regularly on them and no major problems so far. ... show more

I wasn’t sure about this rug at first. It’s very thin, almost blanket like. But I bought a plush pad to go under it and I love it. My dog peed on the rug and it just pooled up, didn’t soak through. I was able to clean it up with no stain or smell.

We ordered this for the basement that we had renovated (removed prior carpet and put in LVP flooring). We wanted to have a rug to pull the room together but not spend a lot of money on since we're only here until we list the house. This rug was so perfect. First, the packaging DID throw us off. It was all folded up. But once out and once we laid it flat it was hard to believe it folded up like it did. For being so thin it is extremely soft! We do not have padding under it.
