  • Do Research Before Installing

The first two cable clamps worked perfectly. The third snapped when I apparently overtightened a nut. I was using a socket wrench. I'm not sure if this was my user error or a quality control issue in the metal production. I grew up in the city, so nobody taught me how to use earth anchors. I used a cheap 4-way tire iron to twist the augers into the ground. Three of augers went in perfectly. The fourth auger hit some kind air pocket above a large rock. The auger is loose and won't go any further in. My wife doesn't want to backfill the hole with concrete. I don't pretend to understand her thinking. I'm going to experiment with filling the hole with polymeric paver sand. If that doesn't work, I will remove the auger and try a different location nearby. ... show more

  • Much needed if you have a light shed or any shed actually.
Item Package Quantity: 1
I purchased this product for a small shed that I had bought. I believe the size of the shed is probably a 5x8 . Even though they haven't been put to the test I firmly believe that these anchors will hold to the ground and the shed will probably blow away due to the fact it's made pretty flimsy.

  • The cables seem quite sturdy as well
Item Package Quantity: 1
My soil is too sandy for the auger to catch and all it did was spin in place so I used a post hole digger and dug holes about 20"-22" deep, set the anchors in the holes and filled with Sakrete quick drying cement. I didn't feel confident enough to just refill the holes with dirt and tamp down and the auger blades are large enough so that set in concrete nothing will pull them out. The cables seem quite sturdy as well. While a tornado may tear my shed to pieces I am pretty certain the cables and anchors would still be there. ... show more

  • Good product but not easy to install
Item Package Quantity: 1
The area where my shed is located has about 1 1/2 feet of landfill which consists of clay, rock, broken bricks etc. I could not screw the anchors more than a foot or so before they hit something and would go no further. So I used my post hole digger to dig just below the debris and then screwed the anchors the rest of the way using a pipe wrench and a crow bar. I then refilled the hole and tamped the dirt to make it solid. I figure after a few rains it will be fully compacted. Looks like the anchors will do what they are supposed to. ... show more

  • They work, although installation was not as easy as expected
Item Package Quantity: 1
Purchased with an Arrow metal shed kit as they were highly recommended to secure the shed and protect it from damage in high winds. As they need to be driven into the ground close to the shed wall you don't have much room to work with. The auger bit is supposed to drive itself into the ground, but this was not my experience. Obviously the composition of the ground has a lot to do with it but I was driving it through our lawn into what was once good farmland dirt and the auger did not perform as expected. To complete my installation I had to use a fencepost hole digger to dig the hole, then set the auger in at the right depth and fill and pack the hole. After a few days the direct was packed tight enough to hold well and so far they have worked fine. ... show more

  • Drilling sucks... but they work as they should.
Item Package Quantity: 1
My shed is in an area where high winds like to hit it. This helps to keep it from taking flight. Only thing is, I live in an area with heavy clay and had a heck of a time getting these things to bite into the ground. I bent one auger I had to press down so hard while turning it. Once they bit into the ground, they went in just fine. Took about 1.5ft before they finally took. In pressing down so hard, I chipped off some paint on the eye hooks, and they already started showing signs of corrosion. Next time, I would wrap my metal bar I used for down pressure in a towel or something to prevent this from happening. ... show more
