**** Update - After trying the watch a while... It's way too big. . .think "clown shoes." And all to no purpose. This Armitron Sport Men's 40/8309 Digital Chronograph Watch is Huge. I knew it was a large watch but not that large. Do look hard at the picture another reviewer posted of the watch on his arm. For the price I paid, I would have bought it anyway, but if I'd noticed that picture I wouldn't have been so surprised by the watch's size. The watch's size is not my cup of tea but it has some nice features if it's yours. I got the watch as a very inexpensive add-on to use vigorously so the way it looks isn't much of an issue for me. --Though it being so big seems like a waste of space and material to me. Looks aside, the watch seems well made and tough. In addition to the usual stopwatch, it has a function that many resin watches lack these days -- a countdown timer. And it has a function that's new to me -- a beat counter or pacer that beeps every certain number of seconds with a wide range of times to choose from. I can see that function being very useful, perhaps reason in itself to buy the watch. ... show more

Watch face is nice and large but still very light and comfortable. Buttons are straight forward and easy to press. Best watch I've purchased in a long time and for a fraction of what the others cost.

I usually wear an Apple Watch - with a protecting case. Previously I ruined a smartwatch wearing it snorkeling in 10' of salt water. I now use an inexpensive, waterproof digital watch when swimming, rafting, snorkeling or doing chores. These watches can take a beating whether cleaning gutters, getting paint on it, etc. When I whack it on something, I don't care. I've had Timex, Casio and now Armitron. In the past I've given my beat up old ones to the kids going rafting, camping etc. I've found these watches to be virtually bulletproof and expect this one to last years. "So far, so good" after 2 weeks in the FL Keys on vacation in the ocean and pools. ... show more

I love the watch itself, I bought it 2 years ago, and it's been great. Has all the functions I need and then a couple more, love the multiple alarm function. Biggest drawback, the band. 2 years in, and my band broke! And I'm not really able to find any replacements that work, it's not your typical watch band connection to the watch (outside connection) this is inside, so 99% of replacement bands won't work. I did find 1 replacement that might work, but it's the same cost as a new watch! I wish Armitron had support for replacement bands, but otherwise, a great watch. ... show more
