This is at least my fourth pair of Terrains. Two were not waterproof and two have been. I teach sheepherding in New England and am in the field on my feet all day regardless of the weather. I cannot tell you the number of boots and hiking shoes I've tried most promising to be waterproof usually with Gortex involved. Unless they were hot rubber boots with no support they were never waterproof. So I was most hesitant to try Ariat's Terrain H2O. But I love the fit and comfort of all the various Ariat products so I tried them. THEY ARE WATERPROOF! And comfortable out of the box! Lightweight, perfect support, and totally consistent. All four pairs fit the same, look the same, and have the same high quality construction and materials. I've worn them from April through the first deep snow, in mud, high grass, sheep poop, running streams, you name it. I think I bought thefirst pair in Texas giving a clinic at least fifteen years ago, then getting the H2O version for the next pair easily 8 or 9 years ago. They have finally worn out though the original laces are still in them. I keep a non-H2O pair for non- sheepherding. I cannot recommend these boots enough. Walking, hiking or riding horseback, these are the best. Thank you Ariat for a grterat product...my only complaint...they are made in China. However, the company must have excellent control over the manufacturing of their product.

I use these boots for doing my chores (cleaning stalls, picking pastures etc.) and for riding. Have extra pairs for wearing for everyday use now, too, not just out in the barn. I have some pretty severe arthritis in my feet, and these boots/shoes are a godsend! Can't be without them or I couldn't really walk. Great arch support (although I do use some over the counter arch supports..."walk hero" brand), plenty of room for my medium wide feet to fit comfortable in them without being sloppy. They hold up well under extreme use, too. Been buying these for years and absolutely love them.

I have several pair of these Ariat Hiking boots in size 10 that are not the waterproof style. Took advantage of the sale and purchased two pair of these Ariat H20 in separate orders. The size 10 waterproof style was too snug so I wanted to exchange them. Amazon website let me exchange one pair but would not allow me to do an exchange for the other pair. Unfortunately, I am returning the second pair after a week of trying to exchange. So sad they don't have a customer service/contact. With that said, I had to order a whole size up because they did not offer a half size which would have fit better. They are a bit big/roomy but it's winter in Wisconsin and warm, heavy socks will fit comfortably in them without pinching or rubbing. Am really not happy at all that I had to return instead of replace the other pair and as a result Amazon lost a sale, way to go Amazon.

I love these boots. This is my third pair. I work with water / waste water and chemicals, and these boots last through repeated soakings and washing and regular use a boot dryer. My first pair I was 1/2 size too small with the inserts I use, and the side seams split. But they were so comfortable, I decided to try them again. I learned that all leather boots will rot unless they are oiled every day, any kind of oil, you don't have to use expensive leather oil. Starting with my 2nd pair, I smear them with Vaseline every day. It really helped, they lasted an entire year and still have life left in the uppers, but the soles were worn out (from walking in chemicals). I like these boots most because they are lightweight, which is very hard to find in a waterproof leather boot. They have very good support for the instep. My feet don't sweat in them like they do in non-leather boots, and they don't track in dirt.

After reading other reviews and non-Amazon recommendations, I bought these for my teen daughter who has extremely high arches and so frequently experiences heel pain. They were supposed to replace her horse riding boots, but she claims they are so comfortable that she wears them to do chores around our small acreage and other outdoor activities as well. It hasn't rained much during the month she's had them, so I can't verify how waterproof they are, but they do have that kind of finish and are very sturdy. To give a little room to grow, I chose a size 10, which is actually what I wear. Of course I tried them on (since they may end up in my closet) and so can say they are true to size and very comfortable. I will definitely be repurchasing a larger size as she needs. We love these boots!

I bought three of these for a group trek to Everest Base Camp this Spring. Two of us had enough sense to wear them a couple times before we went, and were fine. The third didn't, and she got blisters on the backs of her heels. I think they are great boots and very comfortable and require the bare minimum of break in. They are a little heavier than tennis shoes, but provide more ankle support. As stated, I bought three of them. It was a good purchase. I did put Dr. Scholl's sports gel insert in these (and all my shoes) and wore wool socks.

I bought these to wear around a dog kennel. When I bought these I was going for carpet to concrete to gravel. On my feet 8+ hours a day. They are very comfortable and durable. As long as I didn't stand in one place for to long, on concrete. I used alot of bleach when cleaning the kennels and pens and they are still going strong. The only thing is that the rubber tip on the end of the shoes started to come off after a month or so. They are still on. The laces on the other hand finally gave out a month ago.
