Works perfect for my setup. I have an am5 build I went all out on (and spent too much money on as well, oops) but I built a second pc on the am4 platform to have as a secondary computer. I was skeptical about this psu when comparing to other brands, but I wanted to keep my cost lower. This thing is great, honestly I’m beyond happy with it. I can’t even hear the fan spinning in the slightest. It came with every cord I needed and then some. Super easy to hook up and figure out, even being a noobie pc builder like myself. This PSU is pretty quiet and sits there delivering the right amount of power to your PC components. It lasted until two years when something inside started rattling, which became notoriously loud under heavy GPU load, though it was still stable in delivering power. I will still give this 5 stars because ARESGAME sent a new higher wattage unit in response, as a product's rating should also involve the manufacturer's guarantee in making you still have a working product in the end. ... show more

I waited 3 days just for the PSU to arrive to complete my build. With all of the fragile components, I was very careful in rerouting cables, making everything look neat and nice (so I don't have to spend time tidying it up after or having cables caught by the fan). One hour later... I turned on the PC and... nothing happened! I spent another hour checking and double-checking my connections - did I plug in everything tightly and securely? Was there a short on the MB that caused the power not to power on?? Nearly another hour of trouble-shoot, I realized that there's a "testing kit" that comes with PSU. For that, I will give them the 1 star they deserve... Sure enough... After plugging in the testing kit I turned on the power - NOTHING. That's the proof in the pudding! The reason I am upset is that when I opened up the box when the package arrived, I was surprised to find out that there were no seals (nor stickers to seal the box). Although suspicious, I thought nothing of it, too eager to complete my build that I've been waiting 2 days for. Personally, I don't even mind if this is an open box, but they should say so. Least of all, if they have the audacity to resell a returned item to a customer, they should at least make sure that this product is working. Now I have to wait a couple of days to finish my build. ... show more

i was a bit suspicious at first, but i figured $50 or whatever was low enough to gamble on it. the packaging was bare-bones but adequate and the unit was nicely wrapped and cable-tied for transport. the flat cables are very neat in appearance inside the case, so even if they are not detachable, they can be tucked away easily. i used the PSU to replace a dead PSU. it installed just fine in a mid-tower Thermaltake case, and the tested watts output combined to 498.3W. the fan is quiet and is either thermally controlled with a minimal speed or has a constant moderately low rpm. fan is 120mm and has very smooth rotations. i've been running the previous dead system (i5-4770, gigabyte mobo, 16gb ddr3, gtx 970, 1 team group SSD, 1 WD Black hdd) for a couple months now without any troubles and no annoying fan noise either. testing the temperature with a laser thermometer has it a bit above room temp at the heatsink in the PSU - about 85ish. caps on the inside are rated for 105C and even after gaming all day i'm well below that. works great and i'm very happy with it, especially at below $50 when i bought it. ... show more
