  • The Tiny Time Machine for Your GameCube and Wii
AreMe GC2SD Micro SD Card Adapter: The Tiny Time Machine for Your GameCube and Wii Listen up, retro gamers, because I’ve just stumbled upon the AreMe GC2SD Micro SD Card Adapter, and it’s like finding a hidden 1-Up Mushroom in the Mushroom Kingdom of gaming accessories! This transparent little wizard is so slick, it practically winks at you while whispering, “Let’s take your GameCube and Wii to the future—without the DeLorean.” First off, this thing is plug-and-play perfection. Pop it into your GameCube or Wii, slide in a micro SD card (up to a beefy 512GB, because who needs limits?), and boom—you’re ready to store more games than you’d find in a shady alleyway game shop from 2003. It’s like giving your dusty old consoles a memory upgrade so vast, they’ll start bragging about their storage capacity at the next retro console reunion. Pair it with Swiss, Xeno, or GCloader Lite, and it auto-loads your game list faster than you can say “Super Smash Bros. Melee.” The transparent design? Oh, it’s not just functional—it’s fancy. You can see right through it, which is perfect for those of us who like to pretend we’re tech wizards peering into the soul of our gadgets. It’s so compact, it’s like the adapter went on a diet just to fit snugly into your console’s memory slot. And for travelers, this thing’s a godsend—say goodbye to lugging around a suitcase of game discs. Just pack this featherweight champ, and you’re carrying a whole arcade in your pocket. Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: it’s not a magic wand. You’ll need some homebrew software know-how to make it sing, and it won’t save your game progress directly to the SD card (you’ll still need a standard memory card for that). But once you’ve got it set up, it’s smoother than a speedrun through Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road. Becky, a hardcore gamer, called it a “game-changer” (pun intended, obviously), and Josh, a travel-savvy player, basically proposed to it for making his portable gaming life a breeze. In short, the AreMe GC2SD is the retro gaming equivalent of a glow-up. It’s affordable, stylish, and turns your GameCube or Wii into a lean, mean, game-storing machine. So, grab one, channel your inner Luigi, and dive into a world of nostalgia without the clutter. Five stars for making my old consoles feel like they just graduated from tech school. ... show more

  • How to make a virtual memory card.
I have heard people say you can't use this as a memory card. I am here to set the record straight. You CAN use it as a memory card. You must have Swiss installed on your Gamecube. In the settings menu, about 3 pages in, there is a setting to enable a virtual memory card. This will allow you to use an sd card as a memory card through this adapter. This method only works when playing games through the Swiss menu. If you try to access the games through something like cube boot, the virtually memory card will not work. Only through Swiss is this possible. I have a 16 GB sd card plugged into this adapter serving as my memory card now and it has been working great! ... show more

  • Awesome product for retro gamers
I have not seen very many sd cards that are made in the 256gb+ range. This thing was exactly what i needed to resolve that issue being as it takes a micro sd card that simply plugs into it and it then plugs straight into my gamecube of wii. This thing makes life so much easier than the original low storage cards that i had. Started to order it elsewhere but shipping would have taken weeks. Bought it right here on Amazon and had it in 2 days.. ... show more

  • They work pretty well!
I find these work pretty well, especially on consoles that don’t have an SP2 port. My only complaint is that these seem to be a bit more picky about micro sd card compatibility than the SD2SP2 adapters.

  • Not Compatible with My GameCube
It seems like some people are able to get this to work, but I used a TF card and my GameCube won't recognize it. In fact, it says it can't be used as a memory card. I'm returning it.

  • may or may not run on gc

  • For Homebrew, Not Game Saves
If you're thinking about using this as a standard memory card, don't buy this; it will never work this way, and you would be better off finding another solution. However, if you're thinking about using this to run homebrew from a microSD card using your GameCube, you won't be disappointed. I have tested it with the latest version of Swiss (I installed a soft-mod on my GameCube memory card), and it works very nicely; in fact, Swiss detected some MP3s on my 16 GB microSD card and was able to play them with no additional software. Using the same soft-mod and in GameCube mode, I tried using the GC2SD adapter with my Wii and it worked just fine there, too. Just don't forget to format the microSD card as FAT32 before using it with the GC2SD adapter. ... show more
