This rug is so beautiful! The design is very muted, tasteful, and neutral so it will blend nicely with a variety of different decors. The design is barely there, like a faded oriental rug. It is low - almost No - pile and very soft. It almost has a 'cushiony' feel like the newer types of memory foam bathmats, except it is not raised like a bathmat is, it is very flat - but it is as if it had a thin rug pad underneath it. That makes it feel more luxurious! I love that it is machine washable - though you will need a large capacity machine depending on the size you choose. There is a chart on the packaging that gives you the recommended size of machine you need for each size of rug. I have had many types of washable rugs and they are very nice to have if you have pets or kids. This rug is simple to spot clean. You can't expect something at this pricepoint to last as long as a hand-hooked wool rug, but that is what makes it so perfect for someone just starting out, or for use in a high traffic area - you don't have to be super worried about it. It will hold up well to general wear and tear as it is made of good quality, durable materials. I can imagine if you have kids playing on the floor they would love the soft, padded feel of this rug! The backing is non-slip which makes it great for tile or hardwood floors. If you order the runner size it will stay in place with general foot traffic. NOTE: I vacuum mine with a cordless carpet sweeper as it is too lightweight to stay put underneath strong suction. I think it is an excellent value at the pricepoint for whichever size you get. Also note that it will come folded but don't worry! Any folds or creases it might have will fall right out after a day or so once you lay it flat. Even at the 5x7 size I ordered, it is still lightweight enough to fold or roll up and move out of the way. I highly recommend this rug!

When I first received this- The box felt so light I thought- "There can't possibly be a 5'x7' rug in here" .... When I opened the box, I was immediately prepared to be thoroughly disappointed. The item I pulled out of the box felt lighter than a throw blanket, and was folded as if it were a blanket, but yes....it was the rug As I was removing this so called "Rug" from the plastic I was somewhat feeling like a fool for ordering this- It's incredibly thin, and extremely light weight. "Definitely NOT amazing" - BOY WAS I WRONG! Right off the bat- my finger tips felt the delightful softness, as well as the slip resistant backing- I instantly had hope that this might not be so bad- (because of how light weight it is) it unfolded very easily.... still having doubts... I got it laid out (the slight fold creases worked themselves out within under an hour) It really looked quite lovely! I was also amazed at how well it was staying in place. I did pretend stub your foot kick tests- not a budge! For over a week now, my roudy boys have been running around like crazy- It doesn't move unless intentionally lifted to move! No one has tripped and My bare feet LOVE The softness! Very quickly I have fallen in love with this rug! This rug does not provide any padding, however I am still incredibly grateful to have it, and definitely recommend considering it for purchase.... especially if it happens to go on a deal! I think the current $59 price is fair- it's definitely good quality, but this isn't a heavy duty type of carpet rug.

The listing says "stain resistant" and "machine washable" and I have to say I was skeptical on both claims. However, thanks to my dog, I can verify both are accurate. My dog had an upset stomach and let's just say he ate A LOT of grass and then several minutes later deposited it in several large piles on this rug. Cleaned up the solids with paper towels, sprayed some stain fighter on the spots and tossed this rug in the wash. Came out looking brand new without a spot on it. It also didn't wrinkle/crease, the edges didn't curl up, etc. The finish is soft and it is pretty "sticky" to my hardwood floors (even with kids and pets running around on it). Would absolutely buy another rug from this brand.
