Features

  • Dual-Core Processing with Renesas RA4M1 and ESP32-S3: The Arduino UNO R4 WiFi combines the Renesas RA4M1 microcontroller (ARM Cortex-M4) and the ESP32-S3 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip, delivering powerful dual-core processing capabilities. This combination offers flexibility for a wide range of projects, from high-speed communications and wireless control to real-time data processing and edge AI applications.
  • Comprehensive Wireless Connectivity: Equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, the UNO R4 WiFi ensures robust wireless communication for IoT projects, remote sensors, smart devices, and wireless control applications. Whether connecting to the cloud, other devices, or local networks, the board offers stable and high-speed wireless connectivity for seamless operation.
  • Modern USB-C, CAN, & Qwiic Connector: The USB-C port enables efficient power delivery and fast programming, improving ease of use compared to traditional USB connections. The Controller Area Network (CAN) support allows for reliable, real-time communication in industrial, automotive, or robotic systems. Additionally, the Qwiic Connector makes it easy to add I2C sensors and peripherals, simplifying the connection process and reducing the need for complex wiring.
  • High-Precision 12-bit DAC & OP-AMP: For projects that require high-quality analog output, the 12-bit DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and integrated operational amplifier (OP-AMP) provide precise analog signal generation and amplification. This feature is ideal for audio projects, sensor interfacing, or applications where analog signal control and processing are necessary.
  • Integrated 12x8 LED Matrix: The UNO R4 WiFi includes a built-in 12x8 LED Matrix, enabling users to display dynamic visuals, messages, or real-time data on the board itself. This makes it perfect for projects that require immediate visual feedback, such as status indicators, event displays, or interactive user interfaces.

  • A Maker's Dream: Arduino UNO R4 WiFi Review
The latest Arduino UNO R4 WiFi board is nothing short of a revelation for DIY electronics enthusiasts like myself. This board is a significant upgrade, featuring built-in WiFi and an integrated 12x8 LED matrix, which I found to be exceptionally useful for my projects that visually display data or status information. One of the standout features of this board is its connectivity. With both WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, the possibilities for networked and IoT projects are vast and exciting. I was able to connect easily to the internet and other devices, which expanded what I could do with my projects. The addition of USB-C for power and programming also makes the board more future-proof and user-friendly.The quality of the board is exactly what you would expect from Arduino—robust and reliable. The performance is stellar; I've used it to create everything from simple LED displays to more complex networked sensors without a hitch. The integrated OP AMP and DAC are great for more advanced applications requiring precise analog and digital conversions. The documentation provided by Arduino remains top-notch, making it easy to get started and to troubleshoot any issues. I particularly appreciated the inclusion of the Qwiic Connector, which simplifies adding a wide range of sensors and peripherals without soldering.Overall, the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi is an excellent choice for anyone from hobbyists to seasoned makers looking to explore the capabilities of connected devices. It’s a versatile, high-quality board that offers great value for money and opens up a new horizon of possibilities for creative projects. Highly recommended for its performance and ease of use! ... show more

  • From Zero to Smart: Exploring the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi From Zero to Smart: Exploring the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi
The Arduino UNO R4 WiFi is an updated version of the classic Arduino board. What makes it special is that it’s faster and already comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so you can connect your projects to the internet or even control them from your phone. It looks almost the same as the older Arduinos, so you can still use the same cables and accessories. It also has a little LED matrix (like tiny lights) that you can program to show numbers, symbols, or messages. This board is perfect if you are just starting to learn, because it’s simple to use but also powerful enough to create fun and modern projects like smart devices, robots, or interactive systems. ... show more

  • Easy to get started but has a lot of power.
This chip is amazing. It is easy to connect to WiFi and then you can send commands to it just by typing in a URL.

  • great quality microcontroller.
I mean there isn’t really much to say, I used it and it performed well. The only caveat is that it isn’t able to perform fast enough for my rotary encoders. I optimized my coding as much as I could and I could get about two working at max rotation speed. I had five to test out and it worked okay until I tried three. They stopped reading some of the updates and began to register positive numbers only when I rotated the knobs slowly. The display screen works perfectly though. I feel that things that need to get new update states as frequently as possible to work well is not really the best way to use this. But it still works very well and I can just have the knobs change to negative or positive with a single knob since I have so many. Overall, great microcontroller. I still haven’t tested out the wireless transmission or built-in leds yet so hopefully when I get to that it will work as it should. Very great. The hardware is well built and soldering is as expected. Currently I am testing out an led strip controller with knobs and a display screen and that is working well so far. Very nice. ... show more

  • Great Arduino for teaching the kids
It is an Arduino-branded product and a nice quality board for using with Arduino projects to teach the kids programming and how these work. It is sometimes hard to find these at a decent price, but it is a worthwhile investment if you want to learn how to program these or even use them for projects around the house. Some of the knock-off brands have issues with the boards, and I have yet to have a problem with an Arduino. If you are newer to the Arduino world then it is also good to note that if you purchase an Arduino-branded product, it works easily and quickly with the Arduino desktop software, so there is minimal need to go and search for the device to get it up and running. ... show more

  • Much faster than R3, plus integrated ESP32. Much faster than R3, plus integrated ESP32.
I bought this for an Arduino/RPi combo for a upcoming project. The Uno R4 boards haven't had enough time to mature, but the libraries are getting updated here and there. The package arrived on time, only undamaged because I ordered it with other purchases after reading that it comes in a package thinner than a cereal box and no protection for the pins. That turned out to be true so I'm glad I followed that advice. It's a bare card, it doesn't even come with a USB-C cable but I already knew that, and I have plenty of cables from other devices. The R4 board itself looks great, clean solder joints, everything assembled straight, clear screen printing on both sides of all the pins. After plugging it in, Arduino IDE recognized it and installed files for it. The "blink" sketch has come a long way with the itty bitty, blinding 12x8 LED array. All said, it's well made, loaded with new tech to explore and well worth $28.50. I would recommend this for anyone interested in Arduino development. ... show more
