Description

The Ardent Reel Kleen Freshwater Reel Maintenance Kit provides anglers with everything they need for complete reel maintenance. The kit includes Reel Kleen Cleaner 2 ounce bottle, Reel Butter Grease 1 ounce tube, Reel Butter Oil 1 ounce bottle, a cleaning cloth, 4 synthetic-tipped swabs, a brush, and a screwdriver. Reel Kleen Cleaner cleans all reel parts by dissolving dirt and grease. It also contains corrosion inhibitors and dries clean as a protective barrier. The Reel Butter Grease bonds to brass, steel, and plastic and also contains a rust inhibitor and UV tracer so that it can be checked under a blacklight. Reel Butter Oil contains an anti-gumming agent that is compatible with all materials and has consistent temperature performance. Regular reel maintenance is critical to high performance and longevity in any reel; routine cleaning and proper lubrication ensures every reel performs at its best. This kit is conveniently sized to fit in a boat storage compartment or large tackle box.

This is a nice little kit and I have used it to recondition 4 reels for far. Some of these reels have needed some more powerful cleaners and extra scrape work but I always have this kit for general cleaning and the lube work.

I bought this cleaning kit to save some money on bringing my reels in to the shop for a cleaning and lube. I pulled up YouTube videos for cleaning my reels. The kit is great and contains everything you need to maintain your baitcasting or spinning reel. I've used it several times and the only issue I have run into was that I was missing my brain one (late) night and forgot how to put all the pieces back properly! There are some good videos on youtube and schematics online for most reels so don't make my mistake and do your research! ... show more

Ah, fishing time is coming! It was about time to clean my gear and get ready for that first day warm enough to drop a line into a pond somewhere so wanting a small compact kit I could take anywhere, I ordered this one. This one has everything you need to get your fishing reel ready to go and it is nice a compact so you can drop in your tackle box to have on hand that day when your rod & reel goes in the drink (it happens!) and you need to take core of it on site. This kit worked wonders for an old dusty reel I had. It was stiff and noisy until I took this kit to it. I would suggest ordering some extra swabs it only comes with 4. You could use q-tips but these are foam tipped and don't leave annoying little bits behind.

    • Nice kit, but grease tube exploded!
This is a nice, convenient kit and I'm happy that it's made in the USA. Unfortunately the first time I squeezed some reel butter out of the tube, the bottom of the tube blew out, spewing grease all over. :-( I will be contacting the seller and hopefully they'll send me a new tube.
