I purchased two of these blankets and I did receive what I expected. I gave one as a gift and kept one for myself. My friend loved the blanket. He said it kept him warm, and the one I was warm and excellent. I ordered the dark green forest blanket and the dark green forest plaid blanket. They look great and feel great! The blanket is thin, but the heaviness of a wool blanket that you would expect and it does keep you warm.

I bought this blanket in September 2021 and I'm writing this review on February 3rd, 2024. The photos were also taken on February 3rd, 2024. I still love this blanket. This is an extra blanket I only bring out on extra cold nights in the South, so it does not often get used. It's outstanding for heat retention capability. It's 80% wool and 20% synthetic. I finally had to wash it this past week when our cat puked up a hairball on it. I washed it the same as I did a wool army blanket I had from 40 years ago...lukewarm water, delicate cycle, machine dry delicate. Aside from detergent, I used Oxyclean in the wash water too. It's red...I didn't want it to turn my next 3 loads of laundry pink (It did not). It survived just fine even though I obviously didn't follow the instructions exactly (see photo). Like any good wool blanket, be aware that it WILL produce a huge amount of lint on it's first washing. This is a result of the washing and not the drying. No major surprise. The lint comes out in the dryer lint trap, though I had to run the dryer a few times after the first wash to collect all of it. It did not form "pills", it just created loose lint, which is perfect. When done, I brought it outside and gave it a good shake to ensure I got the lint off and there really wasn't any left. It survived the wash/dry really well and remained very colorfast. It didn't shrink. The photo above is a closeup of the blanket AFTER washing, so you can see the overall condition afterwards. Overall, none of this is a surprise to me with a good quality wool blanket. Would I buy it again? Yes, in a heartbeat! Warm, colorfast, high quality, sturdy, and washes well.

Add dead scents to wash, rinse, dry, in order to fight the chem odor. While in washer, a lot of lil fuzz pieces fall off. Else, once dry, is strong, nice looking, warm.

Good blanket for home use. Havent used it outdoors for camping or picnic. Nice and soft. No bad smell from wool. Bed use mostly. I feel like I sleep quicker and deeper with this wool on. Nice color covers my queen bed mostly. Hard to remove pet hair. Not a super thick blanket if that's what your looking for.

On opening I noticed it had some weight to it overall. But it is not heavy on you so saying it is not a super thin flimsy thing. Color is strong and spot on. Wool is so good both at home and camp. wrap this around you in a light rain and sit out by the fire and you'll never feel cold. No polyester fleece blanket compares. Cant speak to durability but it seems well made enough--bigger and thicker than the old army surplus green blankets. Looks great draped over the couch too, Cant speak to durability because I just got it but I rarely do a review but, on first impressions I am pleased I got it ---when so many others disappoint when they show up
