I’m usually a size Large 5’6” 180lbs, but I bought this jacket for snow playing and knew I’d be wearing layers underneath. It fits great with several layers including a snow bib. I wear it for everyday wear too and it’s not too baggy without all the layers. I think it looks good a little big compared to my more fitted jackets. I love the floral camo fun print and I get compliments every time I wear it.

I returned for larger size so I can bundle up. Pretty jacket. Feels light weight but is warm. Sky blue and white is the one I chose. Bought matching overall and the pants.

This Arctix Blizzard winter coat has been "lab-tested" to provide protection down to -20 F, and while the thinness of the coat might make me question it, I completely trust the company -- I own other layering Arctix pieces that have performed as expected. The jacket is made of a dense, water-repellent outer layer and a thin "Thermalock" lining. It weighes less, has less bulk, and is more pliable than the company's Daybreak jacket that's also rated down to -20. It also has fewer pockets and has adjustable cuffs that are not sealed by elastic. The jacket has two outer zippered pockets and two interior ones, one an open mesh and the other, near the chest, Velcro-secured. The front seals with both a zipper and Velcro closures that cover the zipper with a flap. I love that the hood doesn't fall over my eyes when I use it; it can be pulled tight around your face with interior cord that locks with a toggle. The cuffs can be tightened around your wrists with Velcro. If you zip the front all the way up, the jacket will cover your neck. I do wish that the outer pockets were a little larger and that the hood were detachable. Those are minor complaints given the rest of the coat. For me, sizing was a conundrum. I normally wear a medium top and am between a 10 and a 12 pant. I have narrow shoulders and wide hips, the classic pear shape. I decided on a medium in this Blizzard. Because I also ordered a Daybreak in a large, I can compare the two. This Blizzard fits me even when I wear a sweater, although it is tighter in the hips than I'd like. (The Daybreak in a large feels much too big, but it allows me to move more freely.) If you are between sizes -- that is, if one of your measurements is on the edge of those posted on this page -- consider sizing up. Don't size up, however, if you fit squarely within the 8-10 range of a medium. or the 12-14 of a large or whatever size you're considering. I was .5" between the two in the hips. My favorite part of this Blizzard jacket is how thin it is. If I'm traveling from a warmer place to a cold one, I can pack it in my suicase without its taking up much more room than a thick sweater. The jacket has no loft, just efficient insulation and wind-blocking fabric. That's exactly the kind of winter jacket I needed. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Simple but beautiful jacket! I am currently at around 160 pounds, 5'4 and with a postpartum belly that makes me look 6 months pregnant. I was hesitant to order the Medium since that was my "normal" size back when I weighed 125 pounds (before baby and no belly). I'm glad I did because the large would have been too big on me. The jacket fits me perfectly all around with a tad bit of room around the shoulders and arms. The only problem area is around my belly and I just barely was able to zip it up. Since this jacket is tested for extreme weather though, I could get away with a thin sweater, since I cannot wear anything thick and expect to zip up. What I especially love, besides the look of it, is that it's fairly thin. I expected it to be a bit bulkier. I don't usually mind big jackets, but when you're out and have to carry it around during the winter, it's just annoying. But it's lightweight considering the weather it's meant for. The sleeves are comfortable and they have a finger loop (I love those). This has a hood which is not removable. I'm honestly ok with that as I have lost many hoods before when I detached them, so I prefer this. The collar is high to protect your neck and it feels comfortable. I love the white and black design on black, as well as the electric blue trim. This is probably the best jacket I currently have to protect me from the cold that doesn't take up a ton of space in my coat closet. I love it!
