Features

  • SMART AUTO SHADE SYSTEM Automatically adapts shade level, sensitivity, and delay according to arc brightness for optimal protection and visibility. Shade and delay can be fine-tuned within 2 levels (0.01 per step) for a customized welding experience. Helps minimize eye strain while maintaining consistent vision. Note: Auto shade adjustment is not available in Cut Mode due to lower shade levels.
  • TRUE COLOR WIDE VIEW LENS Features a large 4.6" x 3.2" viewing area with upgraded 1/1/1/1 optical clarity for a brighter, more natural view. Five high-sensitivity arc sensors activate auto-darkening in just 1/30000s, providing a clearer weld puddle and improved precision.
  • BUILT-IN E-INK DISPLAY Monitor and adjust Shade, Sensitivity, and Delay directly on the internal E-Ink screen. The menu interface records arc information, manages display settings, and supports consumable maintenance and diagnostics. Convenient side buttons provide fast, precise control with features like quick save and one-touch grind mode, delivering a smoother and more efficient welding experience.
  • INTEGRATED LED WORK LIGHT Built-in LED illumination helps brighten dark workspaces for better visibility. The light supports Ambient Light Mode and Arc Detection Mode, automatically adjusting during welding to improve alignment accuracy and enhance overall safety. The detachable light module features a 1500mAh rechargeable battery that can be removed for independent charging and reaches a full charge in about 2 hours.
  • 9 MEMORY SETTINGS & SMOOTH GRADIENT Store up to nine customized welding settings for quick switching between tasks. Gradient control ensures a gradual transition from dark to light, helping reduce eye fatigue and maintain clear visibility during welding, cutting, or grinding.
  • DUAL BATTERY POWER WITH SOLAR ASSIST - Powered by two CR2450 batteries with solar-assist technology that helps supplement power and extend operating time. Two spare batteries are included for backup. A battery icon on the internal display allows you to easily monitor power status for reliable welding performance.
  • REINFORCED LENS PROTECTION - Includes two durable outer lenses and an additional blue-light filtering lens (packaged separately). Designed to enhance impact resistance, reduce scratches, and limit harmful blue light exposure for improved eye comfort.

  • Worth the money
Color: Black-led
This thing is way more than I was expecting. It's awesome and worth every penny. Loaded with features and more comfortable than anything I've had in the past. I was apprehensive when I bought it because it was so much cheaper than the higher end hoods. I was wrong it's awesome and worth every penny

  • Better features than some of the big name brand premium shields! Better features than some of the big name brand premium shields!
Color: Black-led
This arc captain shield has pretty much everything you could want as far as functions go for a welding shield. The e-ink display is really neat and doesn't require power once it has the display changed to whatever it's showing. The shield uses a rechargeable battery pack which is super nice instead of having to worry about always having the right coin cell on hand. It is super comfortable and the headgear grabs your head from about five different ways and definitely never feels like it's going to come off. It's also comfortable enough it doesn't cause any head strain to give headaches as I have get from some shield in the past. It's quite lightweight considering all the features it has! It has adjustable settings for just about every function on it that go to lower and higher ranges than most shields offer. The pop-up light on the top is one of the features I've wanted on a welding shield for the longest time and this one implemented it perfectly! When you need it it's there, When you don't you can have it closed down so you don't have to worry about the lens getting damaged from spark or getting snagged on something. Seems to be holding up pretty well after a month of pretty heavy use. I have stick welded with it, MIG welded with it "including aluminum" and also done quite a bit of TIG welding using this shield. Splatter wipes off fairly easily. The view is absolutely gorgeous especially when TIG welding you can really see the difference. For delicate low amperage I can see so much better dialing this shield in better than I can even with my $700 I won't name the brand top of the line other shield I own. I know a lot of guys don't want to put a shield on their head unless it's got a certain name brand on it 🤷 pretty ridiculous I've been welding for close to 30 years now and I could care less about what someone thinks the brand name is on my head. I can tell you if you want the best bang for your buck This is it right here! ... show more

  • Excellent helmet, except for the front lens cover... Excellent helmet, except for the front lens cover...
Color: Black-led
Really nice helmet, but not a standard lens cover and i can't find replacement lens covers not even from Arccaptain website, let alone generic, so i have to take off a star just for that issue. REALLY Too bad about the lack of consumables support with this model. So far i have acquired several Arccaptain brand welding tools and find them in general to be upper level DIY jobber / builder level tools of good quality at fair price points, but not "professional" level, your "real pros" scoff and don't even look at any brands besides the expensive AF standards: Miller, Lincoln or maybe Hobart, for the rest of us there's Arccaptain thankfully. This particular model helmet "Sense Core" x200, is targeted at upper level builders and shop guys that are taking their welding to the next level, wanting more features and starting to use multiple machines and processes requiring good variables and adjustments. This helmet has a FULL darkening range from 4 all the way to 15 making it suitable for any process and the 9 mode memory function makes switching effortless after initially setting up. This helmet has a LOT of thoughtful and useful features, too many to list, so many in fact you will HAVE to spend about an hour reading the manual before using it. i love the "automatic" light built in. The helmet is pretty heavy, but it is comfortable to wear and the head gear is adequately adjustable, i don't know why some people complaining about that. i like the fact that the head gear pivots entirely inside the helmet profile for storage and the storage bag is a nice touch. It came with 2 clear and one blu block tinted front lens cover. The front lens cover is the really serious disappointment of this model for me, it is completely unique and proprietary, and I have been unable to find replacements either through Arccaptain or aftermarket. This is almost a deal breaker for me, just this one issue is REALLY annoying. The lens cover is also projected really far in front of the lens and it is also parabolic / curved not flat, which is giving me kind of a "imax" movie effect wearing it, , it is a little disorienting around the edges of your field of view, (although i know we should be concentrating on the work in the center). It is also creating shadows and ghosts now that its getting used some and will need frequent replacement due to the design. I love the HUGE very clear view screen, it has great reaction time and delay, and i stopped getting the headaches from my cheapo quality beginner helmet. My advice for beginners is skip the 50 dollars level helmet, and take the step up to the hundred dollar level, its worth it if you are using a welder more than occasionally. If you are a professional, you are probably not even reading this and going to stick with the top name brands and pay several hundred dollars anyway. i just REALLY HATE the unusual bowed out proprietary front lens cover. So much so i almost took off 2 stars, and i have serious reservations about recommending this other wise awesome model helmet just because of it. ... show more

  • Feature-loaded welding hood
Color: Black-led
This is one of ARCCAPTAIN’s more loaded helmets, and the difference shows up in features and usability, not just looks. The big standout is the large 4.6" x 3.2" viewing area with true color. It gives you a wider, clearer view of the puddle and joint, which makes a noticeable difference when you’re trying to stay precise. Helmets with 1/1/1/1 clarity and true color are built to reduce distortion and eye strain compared to older lenses. The auto-darkening is fast and reliable, with multiple sensors and quick reaction speed, so you’re not getting flashed when striking an arc. That matters more when you’re switching between MIG, stick, and lighter TIG work. Where this one separates itself is the extra features: Internal display + memory → set your shade, sensitivity, delay once and keep it there Gradient control → smoother transitions instead of harsh light/dark jumps Built-in LED light → actually useful in darker areas or tight spaces In real use, that LED ends up being more helpful than you’d think—especially under a vehicle or in a dim shop. The memory feature is also a big plus if you’re constantly dialing settings on cheaper hoods. Comfort is solid. Lightweight shell, adjustable headgear, and it balances well enough for longer sessions. Not top-tier comfort, but definitely usable for extended work. Downside is still what you’d expect in this price range: Headgear isn’t premium Adjustments aren’t as refined as high-end brands Not built for full-time industrial abuse But for real-world welding—garage, fabrication, side work—it holds up and gives you features you usually don’t get at this price. Value for the money is strong. You’re getting large view, true color, fast response, LED lighting, and programmable settings without stepping into high-dollar helmets. ... show more

  • once again a nice ARCCAPTAIN hood in my rotation.
Color: Black-led
I’ve been using this helmet in my rotation of hoods without any issue and the large viewing screen is one of the standout features. It gives you a much better field of view compared to smaller lenses and makes it easier to stay on your work and for a new person to use when watching you weld. So its great for a new person to use or watch someone else weld if they are learning since the view port is so large and not too pricy for someone just getting into welding and wants a good with good quality. So far, all the hoods ive gotten from ARCCAPTAIN have been reliable and hold up well. The built-in light on top is a nice touch and actually comes in handy more than expected. The helmet itself isn’t heavy and feels reasonably comfortable during longer sessions. The tech they use is a mystery to me performance wise but as long as it reacts fast and doesn't cause me to get blinded im happy with it. One thing to be aware of is that you’ll need to get replacement lenses or shades from ARCCAPTAIN, which may limit your options a bit compared to more universal sizes. Overall, this is one I’ll keep in my “will use” rotation for hoods I grab regularly. I’ve had good experiences with ARCCAPTAIN gear in general, and this one fits right in with that. ... show more

  • Love it
Color: Black-led
I own an ESAB A60, a Titanium, a Hobart and 2 other ARCCAPTAIN welding hoods. This one has been my go to recently. I absolutely love the built in LED. I have been working on welding up a second floor to one of our Barndominiums. Under the floor is very dimly lit. Having the built in LED has been a game changer for me. It's automatic functions and brightness worked perfectly. It allows you to position, etc. without needing to have your hood up trying to snap it down with a flick of your head. Both of my hands were always occupied and this hood helped a bunch. Prior, I had tried using VHB 3m tape to stick a small LED light on one of my other hoods, but it wasn't the same. Having to manually turn the light on and off might sound like a "nothing" task, but it does make a huge difference not having to worry about it. If I could start over on my hoods, this one would probably be my first purchase. I can't recommend it enough. I would easily purchase another if this one died. ... show more

  • Perfect helmet for welding
Color: Black-led
I didn’t fully appreciate how much a good welding helmet matters until I started using this ARCCAPTAIN premium auto-darkening helmet. The lens reaction is fast and consistent, which makes a noticeable difference in both safety and comfort while working. I’m not constantly lifting the hood or dealing with eye strain anymore, which makes longer welding sessions a lot easier. The fit is comfortable and adjustable, and it feels well-balanced rather than front-heavy like some cheaper helmets. I also like that the visibility in light mode is clear enough to position work accurately before striking an arc. Overall, it feels like a practical upgrade rather than just a piece of gear. It gives me more confidence focusing on the weld itself instead of worrying about my protection or visibility. ... show more

  • Lot of features! Lot of features!
Color: Black-led
This is a high tech welding helmet with all the bells and whistles. It has an auto setting that chooses the darkness of the shade and delay time according to the arc. It also features a memory function to store your custom settings for shade darkness and delay time. I use the memory to store my settings for welding and one for my plasma cutter but it holds up to eight different settings. It has a nice clear display to show your settings easily. It has control settings on the outside to switch from welding to grind mode and to pick your custom settings. There is also a knob with buttons to scroll through most helmet functions without removing the helmet. My tired old eyes really appreciate the built in rechargeable light. There is also helmet is shaped more like a motorcycle helmet with a giant lens and leaves ample room for safety glasses. It comes with replacement shields one that is tinted yellow to filter blue light. I like the helmet and the only reason I did not give it five stars is the headgear does not look that tough and is very thin plastic. ... show more
