I don’t know too much about robes but this one feels really nice and flexible. The middle of it seems like some type of nylon poly type material but the outside has a nice soft and smooth braiding. Half inch doesn’t sound thick, but this is a pretty thick rope. I work in construction so I primarily use this to rope up tools, two places like roofs, etc. For the price per foot it seems like a pretty decent rope and I know I won’t be putting too much stress on it as the most I am pulling onto the roof at a time is around 50 pounds or so. I am not a I am not a arborist so I have no experience in climbing or using these types of ropes for such applications. This rope is easy to tie knots with and attach carabiners for equipment. Although this rope was a little stinky. For the application I use it for there are definitely less expensive options that are plenty durable and that is the primary reason I gave it four stars.     • Good quality rope. Hasn't stretched that I have noticed. Holds up well to abrasion.
I dont use this for climbing or safety. I use it for throwing over limbs to hoist up equipment and other lines. Nice weight of rope and doesn't tangle. Very durable and easy to use. Seems safe enough for hoisting materials and equipment.

In the past I've worked with ropes for a long time, and this one didn’t disappoint after lite use. The length was more than enough for the price, and it feels solid with a good mix of stiffness to hold knots and flex, but not so hard that it’s tough to handle. You can tell it’s built to last and can take some real use. Like most new ropes, it was a little slippery at first, but after running it through my gloves a few times, it gripped just fine. This is decent quality rope and will work well for throwing over limbs etc. The ends of the rope are epoxy sealed and it has a nice soft hand. I would not use for belaying or rock climbing as the sticker on the product suggests. There is no rating information or weight limits so using for anything other than general purpose would be dangerous. This is generic bulk rope cut to length and shrink wrapped as you can see from the images of the way it is packaged. Ideal for yard work, camping, or securing lightweight items. I could see using it as an anchor rope for small lightweight water craft. If you intend to use for safety purposes I would suggest you look for a rope that has been properly rated and tested with clear use specifications, warnings, etc. ... show more

    • Strong rope
We had a bad hurricane blow through our neighborhood. A lot of trees came down. One of my trees in my back yard snapped and fell on a smaller tree. The small tree is a young tree, and it did not break, but it was leaning over like in a right angle. Even after we removed the broken tree off it the young tree, the small tree stayed leaned over! I got this tree rope to help straighten it out. It is a good length. I was able to tie one end towards the top of the tree and the other end to a pole next to my garage. I pulled the rope real tight so eventually I hope it straightens out. The rope is nice and thick. So far it is holding good (every few weeks we tighten it some more). ... show more
