Description

The Aquascape Pro Air 20 Aeration Compressor is the ideal compressor for aerating ponds and water features up to 5,000 gallons. The unit can be combined with aeration tubing and an aeration diffuser to supply dissolved oxygen directly to pond water, helping all biological processes and ensuring healthier water, fish, and plants. The outdoor-rated, 15-watt compressor provides quiet and energy-efficient operation, and the heavy-duty metal housing is weather resistant, guaranteeing year after year of reliable aeration. Integrated rubber feet located on the bottom of the compressor minimize vibration, and a pre-installed 3/8” outlet fitting makes installation quick and easy. The Pro Air 20 Aeration Compressor is ideal for ponds with a maximum depth of 6.5', and the unit has a maximum air flow rate (loaded) of .71 CFM (20 liters/min) and a maximum air depth of 2.90 psi (0.20 kgf/cm2). The aeration compressor can also be used during winter months, when bubbles and water movement created at the surface help to maintain a small opening in the ice for oxygenation. Aquascape Pro Air 20 Aeration Compressors carry a 3-year limited warranty.

Aerator bubbles powerfully keeping an opening at minnesota 7degree F. pond surface to allow nitrogen to escape. If aerator kept not deeper than 1 ft below surface of 5 ft. deep pond in winter, it will not draw warm bottom water to the surface. In warmer months this aerator can be placed on the bottom of the pond to oxygenate the pond. The large diameter reinforced hose is not the sinking type which is good for winter use. I have had this aerator all summer and part of winter in Colorado. My pond holds about 700 gallons and varies from 1 foot to 3 feet in depth. I keep this aerator in the shallow end and it produces sufficient bubbles to provide oxygen into the water. I also have a much more powerful aerator by Easy Pro called a Linear Diaphragm Compressor. I use this for the deeper end. The difference between the two is the Easy Pro produces more violent bubbles and therefore is more efficient for deeper depths. In winter the Easy Pro has always maintained an opening, even in -8 degrees. Whereas the Aquascape has frozen over in +6 degrees, meaning there was no opening. But, it still worked and created bubbles under the ice. If the goal is to maintain an opening in very cold weather, clearly the Aquascape has limitations. The other difference is that the Easy Pro creates much larger and more violent bubbles, whereas the Aquascape creates gentler smaller bubbles. Which means it is easier to see the fish with Aquascape. For me, they both have value. Depending on one's needs and climate the Aquascape may be perfect for you. ... show more

This is a great little pump and is very quiet. I hope that it has a long useful life versus the diaphragm wearing out in a year. Only down side is I wish it had a little more power/cfm flow .

This aerator is as good as it gets. I leave it outside exposed to the elements and it hasn't given me any problems at all. The fish love all of the extra oxygen and it is strong enough to keep a hole in the ice without a heater during the winter (even when it got below 0 degrees F). I love how there is a valve that I could detach to check if air is still flowing. The unit is so quiet I could not rely on sound to know if the unit was on or if there was a problem. Of course there was not a problem, just a tripped breaker. There is more than enough tubing in the box so I cut off what I needed and have plenty more stored in my garage for years to come. This was more expensive than some of the other aerators that I used in the past but they all broke within the year and didn't even pump out as much air as this one. At this point, I am saving money now that I do not need to replace this aerator. ... show more
