This was perfect tool for getting rid of that crusty, stuck on algae! I had a different algae scrapper (one of those magnet ones with the plastic edge scrappers) and ho boy. I spent so much time and effort trying to scrape off the algae that I actually started to work up a sweat and maybe took only 10% of what had accumulated on the glass. After much disappointment from my previous attempts, I finally caved and bought this, hoping that it would ease my efforts. It scraped off the algae like with little pressure(could even scrape it off with just one hand while I was recording)! I'm just a matter of minutes, it took the unsightly gunk off! It also didn't leave any new scratch marks on the glass, and the razor was flexible enough to take off the algae from a bow front tank. Now I can look at my tank without any algae nasties clouding up my view. Now for the tool itself- it wasn't just some cheap plastic tool which was nice. The rod comes in two parts that you screw together rather than one of those collapsible rods. Wasn't too bad to open it, place the razor in, and fasten it back in. Though, I would recommend using an actual screw driver rather than the Allen wrench-thing they give you along with the packaging just to make the process less awkward. It comes with a cover to make sure it doesn't expose the blade to anything it's not suppose to. Definitely think it was worth the price I paid for it.

I love this. I'm always fighting with algae on the sides of my tank. This takes it right off with no scrubbing. Just be careful when using is in the corners. It's sharp edges will cut the glue in the tank.

Among the best value aquarium products out there. I have the expensive scrapers from Seachem and others. This thing works - not exaggerating - 10 times better than the expensive stuff. Don't bother trying the more expensive options - just get this and enjoy a clean tank that is fast to clean. It's THAT good.

I'm using this for a 180 gallon glass aquarium where I have quite a few spots of brown algae near the bottom on the front and sides. I had previously been using a long handled algae scrubber with mixed results. Took an awful lot of effort to remove the algae and my hand got wet as the handle length was too short to reach the bottom of the tank. This razor has resolved those issues. The razor blade takes all the effort out of removing the algae - it just comes off the glass like butter. The long handle mostly keeps my hand dry unless I'm trying to reach the back side of the glass. Couple of cautions with using a razor though - do not use on an acrylic tank as it will scratch the acrylic and stay away from the silicone seals of the tank as it will cut them quite easily and you could end up with a leaking tank. Use another type of tool for clean algae from the corners of the tank. Overall a great piece of sturdy equipment I highly recommend.

Game changer! I'm not a professional fish tank person. I've attempted to have tanks before for my kids but cleaning is not easy. I've tried the magnet wall scrubbers but the algae holds tight. Not even my snail or shrimp can get the tricky spots. A razor blade is the only thing that worked for me but I hated putting my arm all the way in. It really disrupted things. This algae scraper makes it so so so much easier. It comes with several blades and a nice safety cover for when it's stored away.

Not only is this tool well made. It is hands down the be best aquarium glass cleaner that I have ever used Much better than the magnetic cleaner. Literally cleans the most stubborn algea spots with one swipe. The only manual tools that you need is this scissors and tweezers.
