Because of where we live (very rural, very small town) we don’t have a convenient access to swimming lessons. The closest is about an hour away and we just haven’t wanted to make that kind of commitment for lessons. But we still very much feel the importance of our kids learning to swim so we decided to do it ourselves. We have one hotel and are fortunate enough that they allow locals to buy a membership and use the pool. These kickboards help give our kids confidence while learning and have been a huge asset in teaching them. We still have a ways to go before they can confidently swim without them, but these have been exactly what we needed to get the ball rolling. I bought three (pink, blue, and orange) and they’ve all been great. Easy for my kids (8, 5, 2) to hold on to and hold up their varying weights.
