    • Feels like new, including battery life - Works well for music
I was somewhat hesitant to order this ipod, because the quality rating was listed as "good", as opposed to excellent, and moreover, I saw a number of reviews indicating disappointment with the battery life. Personally, I am very satisfied with this purchase. The ipod looks like new, and after days of listening to music, I am still on the first charge. In my case, I have no desire to use it for apps, so I can't speak to that aspect, but, for music, I am happy with having the 64 GB capacity, and all functions as expected. Having owned older model ipods in the past (and still owning an older one), I have a little bit of a subjective feeling that the older model ipods sounded better, but I have not done any rigorous A/B testing to confirm that, so please take that sentiment with a grain of salt. Having said that, I will say that I am not bothered by the sound quality of this model -- it is pretty good -- good enough such that I get to enjoy my music throughout the day. I would recommend this item to anyone with the same needs, i.e., music collection is reasonably large, and you like the convenience of having all (or most) of it on one device. As for the refurbished ratings: Originally, I had thought that I would only purchase something that was rated "excellent", but the ipod models that I had my eye on took a sudden price leap upwards from $199 to $225. Once that happened, I started looking at lower priced models, which is when I found the item that I wound up purchasing for only $175. Same storage size, lesser rating (it was just rated "good"), and slightly older model. I am really pleased to have saved the $50, and found something that I liked every bit as much. Based on this, I would advise to spend a little extra time researching all offerings and price points before purchasing. I will also mention that the "good" rated item that I received actually feels great to me. Really close to new quality, in my case. I don't know if this was just good fortune, or if that is generally true. I hope that it is the same for others, as well. ... show more

    • Great, but some apps don’t work if not newest iPod version
Overall a great product for my kid. YouTube app wouldn’t work on it, nor Roblox. Maybe it might be because the iPod is 2nd to the newest version? Also wasn’t able to take video after a month...it wasn’t full (64gb) so webwill check it out at the Apple Store and update this review.

About a month after the 90-day warranty had expired, it quit taking a charge and will not power up. Garbage.
