I bought this to replace an exact duplicate that was purchased years ago but the face had cracked . . . . still works but the face is cracked. Not a fan of Apple and here's an example as to why. Music that I had put on the original unit and had been purchased through iTunes transferred in to the new unit with no problem. BUT . . . . . music that I put in to the original unit that was not purchased through iTunes can not be transferred in to the new unit. Those CDs are long gone so that music will never get on the new unit. I bought a screen protector for the old unit and don't bother using the new unit. For this reason, I give Apple only 2 stars !!! Update in July of 2025. Had not used this new item in a few weeks so I put it on charge. The battery decied to expand rapidly and basically split the unit in half, making it in to nothing more than a paper weight. Just another reason why I will NEVER buy a POS Apple product ever again !!! ... show more

    • Bad battery life
The battery life is short, so I guess the battery gets tested to minimal standard instead of getting a good quality replacement in refurbishment.

This is an update on this device. I had previously rated it 5-star, because it worked fine when I first got it. But in less than two weeks with only light use, the battery failed and won't hold a charge. Since this is a refurbished item, I figure the battery is old and faulty and was not replaced.
