This is my first Apple computer, having used windows PC's for years. I was extremely pleased with the like -new condition and appearance of this computer. I expected to find scrapes, scratches, dings, normal wear and tear on this, as it is a refurbished used item. It is absolutely flawless. I'm not used to Apple's way of doing things, and it has taken me a couple of days to adjust and get comfortable with it, but I must say, I'm glad I made this purchase. I had a great experience purchasing this iMac from Platinum Deals via Amazon! It arrived a day early, and early in the morning too! We were off to a good start. After doing some reformatting and reinstalling of MacOS Catalina, I restored my Time Machine backup and it is working great! It is a great value, works and looks great!     • Excellent for What I Needed
After reading several reviews I was somewhat hesitant to purchase a reconditioned imac. But the price was what I could afford and I needed a newer model than the one I have now (early 2009 27 inch ) which has served me well for the last 15 years. That being said, I needed to be able to write and the 2009 is at the highest OS level (High Sierra) it can handle I needed to upgrade to a higher OS as an upgrade to writing programs and I didn't need the 27 inch screen as I am going to use it mainly as a writing instrument. So I ordered the 2017 21inch Imac. It was delivered 2 days after I ordered it. It was in a large box that was double thick cardboard and well padded. The computer was in pristine condition almost looked brand new. I inspected it and it had no scratches, pits or any seeming little cosmetic issues. Included was a wired keyboard and mouse (not a real problem as they both work well) and like several other reviewers I got a 16gb ram instead of the 8gb listed in Amazon. I plugged in the computer, did all of the necessary steps to open it and make security arrangements then I updated the OS to Ventura 13.6.3. And added the two writing apps that I needed. The colors are great, the graphics are spot on and its a whole lot faster than my big mac. I increased the font size on screen and so far this unit is all that I had hoped for.     • Great for the price.
It was easy to set up. I didn't need any tech support from Apple. The iMac walked me through the set up process from start to finish. Computer works very well for what I need. I use iTunes, email and general web searches. I was able to update to Ventura, so I have the latest OS version.

    • Broken Fusion Drive
When I first started up the mac, I noticed that the storage was broken up into two separate drives and couldn’t download anything more than 10 gb, I knew that this wasn’t normal and looked up my problem and saw that it was a broken Fusion Drive , the fix was super easy and easy to follow from apple. Besides that one incident the computer is perfect , the screen is beautifully clear and timeless, the 1tb of storage, and the 21.5 in screen feels bigger than I expected.     • computer would not allow me to get inside it
Happy with the computer. It came faster than I thought it would .. It is in really good condition and I was able to update the Apple system to the current one with ease. Only problem was getting it to sync with my laptop info. I think I need to talk to Apple about that. So very grateful for this refurbished IMAC . Thank you! ... show more

Pathetic speed. The description says 8 GB RAM and it is nowhere near it. I don’t understand why Amazon keeps such products and certify them. I just logged in once and. Is it has been upgrading software from last 6 hours. Upgrades failed due to low speed couple of times already. Waste of time and money on this one. ... show more

That's all you need to know. IT's A MAC. More expensive. LESS stuff. Wildly frustrating. I WANT TO GO BACK TO PAPER AND TYPEWRITERS!!!! SO WHAT +++DID WE DO+++ BEFORE COMPUTERS? I've been a MAC person for many years now, and it's getting a little out of hand and out-of-reach. As a senior, living on poverty level, SERIOUSLY, WHAT DO THEY THINK WE'RE MADE OF. My money tree out in the back yard never sprouted ... and WHY SHOULD I continue to make the RICH RICHER and ME POORER? Ya, well, this could well be my LAST MAC .... Getting too old to squander my bucks on the rich any more.
