Comparing MacBook Pro 14 M5 32GB 1TB to this: MacBook Pro 16 M3 Max 48 GB 1tb version: 1) Screen is brighter! Some additional nits are great to have. Haven't tried outdoors though. 2) Screen is smaller but pretty enough vs 16" size, especially if you use 2nd screen. 3) Head and posture: When sitting with the laptop, feels like putting heads into shoulders lower because otherwise 14" screen is not on the same line as head. It was easier with 16" screen! Maybe need to get a stand that will put laptop higher vertically. 4) Keyboard feels like the same one, identical 5) Performance: 22GB LLM local model loads and works pretty good comparable to M3 Max 48GB. Not feeling it is smaller. Important to note that with both MacBooks it is slow, the only way to use really good models is still commercial cloud-based ones. 6) Feel and speed: feels much snappier in a browser and overall (I've read that M5 single thread speed is 30% faster). 7) Weight: much more comparable, can handle with one hand. MacBook Pro 14 feels like it is a laptop, while MacBook 16 Pro provides more like a desktop experience. 8) Size: much easier to get it and place on a small table in a coffee shop. Though can do it with 16 Pro but it always feels it either must be placed on a side and partially hanging. 9) battery: very good, feels long and very slow discharging. 10) sometimes get noticebly warm with Claude and Codex. With Macbook Pro 16 it was pretty rare but it was getting warm pretty fast with LM Studio though. 11) Easier to lay down with it. Overall: Brighter screen + Smaller Weight + Faster Speed in Browser. Not life changing but the size is right, and if you use ipad or external monitor as second screen it feels good!

What a glorious machine. It resembles the m1 air a lot, design wise, but of course everything is way upleveled. The screen is gorgeous, the speakers are impressive, the speed is delightful and it can take heavy workloads with ease. 32gb unified memory is the sweet spot for value in working with local language models, anything more expensive and you've probably better off with a cloud instance, anything less and interesting models simply don't fit. So glad I bought this.

Finally replaced my 2014 Macbook Pro and couldn't be happier with the increased performance, storage, and speed for audio production work. Don't know why I waited so long other than the eomewhat remarkable longevity in performance of the last one.

Fun machine to play with Local AI Agents and custom automations with Claude coworker or similar. Awesome for app development and audio and video production. Worth the extra ram.

Macbook pro does everything it supposed to do, and I'm very happy with the purchase. However I'm wondering if it's a grey market device. It did not include the 70 watt charger as stated on the website. Also it is not included on the listing on the product box. Amazon needs to note this on the website as I now have to purchase one separately. I've nicked one star off for this.
