  • Amazing value
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Indigo Set: Without AppleCare+
I absolutely love my MacBook Neo. It’s my first MacBook and it has been a dream to use. I work from home and this thing runs through my whole workday with ease. I made a lot of songs on GarageBand while working multiple apps and it powered through it with absolutely no problem. The indigo color is absolutely beautiful too. Build quality is impressive for the price. The sound quality is great and so is the screen quality. Runs super fast. You would never be able to tell this was a budget laptop if you didn’t know. Set up was very easy and was made easier because of my iPhone. The battery life is great too. I can make it through my whole eight hour workday and still have some juice left. Trust me, this is the best laptop you can get right now on a budget. I absolutely love this MacBook and it is the best computer I’ve ever used, no joke. You will love it. Apple did an amazing job on this machine. Don’t underestimate it. The quality speaks for itself. ... show more

  • The MacBook Neo: Premium Feel, Breakthrough Price
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Indigo Set: Without AppleCare+
Apple finally delivered a sub-$600 laptop that doesn't feel like a compromise. It’s effectively a "greatest hits" of Apple engineering packed into a ultra-portable 2.7 lb frame. Why It’s a Winner: The "Pro" Heart: It runs on the A18 Pro chip (the same one from the iPhone 16 Pro). While it's a mobile chip, it actually rivals the legendary M1 in performance—meaning it’s snappy for web browsing, heavy document work, and streaming. Stunning Liquid Retina Display: You get a 13-inch screen with 500 nits of brightness. It’s crisp, vibrant, and significantly better than almost any Windows laptop at this price point. Silent & Cool: Like the Air, it’s fanless. It stays completely silent even when you have multiple coaching frameworks and Spotify playlists running simultaneously. All-Day Battery: You’re looking at up to 16 hours of battery life, making it the perfect "grab-and-go" device for a day of client meetings or coffee shop deep-work sessions. Fun Aesthetics: It comes in four bold colors—Blush, Indigo, Silver, and Citrus—with color-matched keys that give it a much more modern, energetic vibe than the standard gray slabs. The "Trade-Offs" to Know: To hit that $599 price, Apple made a few strategic cuts: The Keyboard: The keys are not backlit, which is fine for daytime work but a bit tricky in low light. Touch ID: The base model doesn't have a fingerprint sensor (you have to jump to the $699 model for that and 512GB of storage) - the one I purchased. Memory: It's fixed at 8GB of RAM, so it’s great for everyday "prosumer" tasks but won't be your 4K video editing powerhouse. The Verdict If you need a reliable, beautiful, and "Googly" laptop for emails, and life management without dropping $1,500 on a Pro, the MacBook Neo is an absolute steal. It’s the "minimalist's dream" for 2026. Are you looking at the Neo as a primary machine for your coaching business, or more of a portable secondary device for when you're on the move? ... show more

  • Love the Neo Yellow
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Citrus Set: Without AppleCare+
MacBook Neo Review — Sleek, Fast, but Not Perfect I’ve been using the MacBook Neo for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m really impressed with what it offers—especially if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem. What I liked: Performance: The MacBook Neo is fast. It handles multitasking, video editing, and everyday browsing without any lag. Apps open almost instantly. Design: As expected, it’s beautifully designed—thin, lightweight, and easy to carry around. The build quality feels premium. Battery Life: Easily lasts a full day of moderate use. I rarely find myself reaching for the charger before the evening. Display: Bright, sharp, and color-accurate. Great for both work and streaming. What could be better: Price: It’s definitely on the expensive side for what you get. You’re paying a premium for the brand and design. Ports: Limited port selection can be frustrating. You’ll probably need adapters if you use multiple accessories. Upgradability: Like most Apple products, what you buy is what you’re stuck with—no easy upgrades later. Final Thoughts: If you want a reliable, high-performing laptop with a sleek design and excellent battery life, the MacBook Neo is a solid choice. Just be prepared to spend a bit extra and possibly invest in accessories. Would recommend—especially for students, creatives, and professionals who value performance and portability. ... show more

  • Perfect Laptop for College, Fast, Lightweight, and Reliable
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Indigo Set: Without AppleCare+
I absolutely love this Mac, 100% worth it. As a college student, this has been perfect for my daily needs. I use a MacBook Pro for my work, and I got this one specifically for school and being on the go, and it’s been a great fit. It’s lightweight, easy to carry around campus, and much more convenient than bringing my larger laptop everywhere. Performance-wise, it’s fast, reliable, and handles everything I need for school without slowing down. Whether I’m working on assignments, browsing, or multitasking between apps, it runs smoothly and keeps up with my day. The battery life has also been great, I can get through long stretches of the day without constantly needing to recharge, which is a huge plus for being on campus. Another standout for me is the screen. It actually feels like an upgrade from my MacBook Pro, the display is bright, clear, and really enjoyable to use whether I’m working or just browsing. Overall, this is a great choice for students or anyone looking for a portable, efficient laptop for everyday use. It’s the perfect balance between performance, battery life, and convenience. ... show more

  • BEST LAPTOP IN THIS PRICE RANGE !!
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Blush Set: Without AppleCare+
After a long wait of trying to get my hands on the neo & watching tons and tons of reviews about it, I've BEEN wanting a MacBook for years, especially since the touchbar and when the M2 came out 😭 and also not being able to afford one before because its expensive in my country... this MacBook Neo was the perfect opportunity for me to finally get one & it filled the gap. Honestly, it did NOT disappoint!! I’m actually so confused by all the negative reviews?? I’ve been trying SO hard to find something I don’t like and I genuinely can’t find a single thing 😭, like I genuinely dont see a problem with all the limitations/ problems everyone's mentioning, it literally doesnt bother me. I’ve been a Windows user my whole life too, so this is my first ever MacBook. The Color: I got the Blush one because I love pink and it’s so pretty 😍. It’s literally gorgeous; I’m in love with it. It’s not childish or super pastel, it’s more of a pink with a silver-ish hue. It’s an "adult" pink that you won’t get tired of seeing. Heating: so far… no overheating at all 🤷🏽♀️ The Speed: Right out of the box, it was a little laggy, I’m not even gonna lie 😭. But as soon as I updated to the latest macOS, it got super smooth. For 60Hz, it feels fast and the lag completely disappeared. The Build: Stunning. Chefs Kiss. Quality!!!! 😍. The quality speaks for itself: sleek, clean, aluminum body, and very aesthetic. It looks and feels so premium that I find myself looking at it in awe like, "Damn, this is really mine!?!?" 😭 If this is so well-built, I can only imagine the Air and Pro models?? 😍 Screen & Display: 13 inches the size is perfect, not too big, not too small. The display is EXCELLENT, sharp, crisp, clear and so clean & very close to 2k quality. its like a mid-range laptop but apple style premium experience. The bezels are a bit thick, but you get used to them quickly. The 500 nits brightness is great, but since I wear glasses, I changed the settings from default to *scaled* so it’s much easier for me to see. Plus, it supports 4K video (& also output to a monitor), which is a big win for YouTube and streaming. Speakers & Weight: The speakers are good, they aren’t the greatest ever, but they are loud and clear enough to hear it. Its enough for the neo. Regarding the weight, it’s about 3 lbs. It does have a little weight to it & it’s not as lightweight as some people are making it seem, but it’s not super heavy either. It’s a nice middle ground. its solid. Value: Well worth the money!!! 🤏🏽🤏🏽 A MacBook Air was way too expensive for me 😭, & as a 1st time mac user i didnt want to just throw out over 1k usd on a laptop so I got the Neo 512GB version because this is going to be my main laptop for years and I don’t want to stress about storage. Battery/Charging: My ONLY downside is not really knowing when it’s fully charged 😭. Since there’s no MagSafe light, you don’t get that green indicator, but that is my only complaint. Overall: This is literally one of the BEST laptops in this price range. Its NOT comparable to a Chromebook at all, (lowkey offensive to the laptop) they are not even close to equivalent at all and it’s definitely not an "iPad with a keyboard" 😭a laptop can do so much more. I’d consider myself a heavy user and I still don’t need crazy specs or the best and latest tech to be satisfied at all. I can definitely see this being the perfect first MacBook for a lot of people, imo the target audience is every and anyone, especially if you’re coming from Windows like me. Id choose this over a windows laptop in the same price range any day. And honestly… in THIS economy??? BUY THE MACBOOK NEO 😭 1000/10 WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND, especially the 512GB version. It is VERY impressive, it almost feels like a steal. ... show more

  • Read if you play sims or are hesitant on the backlit keyboard
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Blush Set: Without AppleCare+
If you handed the average user this laptop no one would know it did not have a regular computer chip. I have used this computer exactly as I have been using my windows before it, including sims 4 and excel and have had 0 issues, in fact this Mac outperforms it. The hardware feels premium and expensive. I personally enjoy the mechanical click mouse. My only hesitation was the lack of a backlit keyboard. It has turned out to be a non issue, because 1. i don't need to see the keyboard to type, 2. the only time im blindly reaching for keys is when watching shows at night and Apple has placed the volume and sound keys very strategically so they are easy to find even without seeing and 3. the light of the screen really does illuminate the keyboard really well so you can see everything anyway. I've had this since Tuesday, its Sunday evening now, and I've charged it maybe 3 times (but i think its 2), so battery life is great! This includes me playing sims, watching shows for a few hours, and just average use for work and browsing. Bottom line is, of course its slightly less nice than the air or the pro, it costs less! No one complains that the air has less features than a pro! This is a great little machine, and if you are not already on a mac its a great introduction to the apple ecosystem. Your apple devices will blend so seamlessly and this is the real beauty of the macbook. ... show more

  • Not Perfect But Better Than Windows Laptops
Style: 512GB | Magic Keyboard with Touch ID Color: Indigo Set: Without AppleCare+
I’ve been retrofitting Macbooks since the blueberry, tangerine and lime notebooks series from 2000 or thereabouts (usually from Apple’s OS to Linux) but my computing experience goes back to the 70s era of flowcharting and punchcards. Although I desired a new MacBook, I wasn’t willing to pay the exorbitant high costs associated with buying one new, or refurbished, from Apple (hence the oft-used term, “Apple tax”). Along comes the Neo. An Apple laptop for $700 or less? That’s nearly $300 less than the cheapest Air. Qualify for the educational discount and you get an additional $100 off. Hyped as a Chromebook killer, this is undoubtedly a hit for Apple. How do I know this? The first batch sold out within a day and current backorders are reaching well into April. I got mine delivered in two days via Amazon but was limited to indigo, indigo and indigo. Bummer, I wanted citrus but that sold out first and the remaining colors (except silver, go figure) were in low or no supply. And, as you can see, I got the upgraded 512GB model with touch ID. As a comparison tool, I’m using my Samsung Chromebook Plus with 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, high resolution webcam and a 15 inch OLED screen all powered by an Intel i3 processor. New, these cost around $800 but I got mine as an open box with a defective micro-SD slot for less than $400. I won’t bore you with the Neo specs - you already know them. Instead, I’ll inundate you with my results and answer a few complaints I’ve heard. First, the complaints: * No MagSafe charger. Whoopee. It uses USB-C which means I don’t have to carry yet another charger just for this. Chances are you’ve got bookoodles of USB-C cables and chargers hanging around anyway. On that topic, it comes with a 20 watt slow charger but the charging port can handle a 65 watt charger and possibly charge a little bit quicker. * The trackpad has no haptic feedback. Double whoop. Since my MacBook conversions used Linux, that doesn’t matter. You’ll get used to it. The nice thing is, you can click anywhere on the trackpad. The bad news? It’s no better than any other trackpad out there and pressing down will expose gaps in the sides. * No backlit keyboard. Okay, I’ll agree on this one. Fortunately, the Neo comes with keys that are lighter in color than the casing, so I really haven’t had too many difficulties here, plus I know my keyboard layout after 55 years of typing. * Two USB-C ports with one that’s old school. Still faster than my 2017 Air that was still hooked on the fatty USB-A ports. As a test I hooked up my Macbook double C external port dongle (the type that hangs from the side. Works like a champ, contrary to what some online critics state. * It’s a glorified iPad Air. Hmmm, I checked. The iPad Air with 512GB SSD and a keyboard costs $1,168 from Apple. While it may come with the M4 chip and 12GB RAM, it still has just an 11 inch screen and a $468 price premium over the Neo. No comparison there, especially given one is iOS while the other is OSX. * The speakers aren’t up to Apple standards. That’s why I have bluetooth speakers at the ready for rocking out to Zeppelin or Floyd. Otherwise, I listen to jazz and the included speakers do just fine. * It uses a phone chip (A18). Yes, and so what? So does your iPhone and I don’t hear you complaining there. * No privacy shade for the webcam. You can buy a stick on version for a couple bucks or do like my neighbor and use a small sticky note to block it. On the negative end, it doesn’t have a light to tell you when it’s activated. That should be standard. * The Apple logo on the cover doesn’t light up. That’s an issue? Really, c’mon now, Apple stopped that design feature about a decade ago. * The battery peters out too quickly. Well, if you consider about 8 to 10 hours to be too quickly, then you’re right; however, I come from an era when laptop batteries lasted maybe all of 2 hours. Now on to the good points, in my observations. * It’s aluminum, just like its bigger MacBook brethren. No cheap junk plastic here. * Not a lick of bloatware, unlike Windows computers that often load up with anti-virus and other assorted gimmicks you didn’t ask for. * The battery is user replaceable. Yep, it has just 4 screws holding the battery in (not counting the ones holding the back cover on). Even the motherboard is replaceable, according to a couple reviews I’ve seen (I won’t be trying either the battery or motherboard replacement for a few years, at the worst). * That is one vivid screen, even at just 13 inches. The resolution is tight and bright, as one observer noted. Even my 66 year old eyes have no problem with this. * For such dinky speakers, the sound is surprisingly good, in my opinion. Again, I’ve got bluetooth speakers to help along as necessary. * It’s faster than you might think. That phone chip goes a long way to make sure it keeps things humming along. So, does this beat the Chromebook Plus? Well, it does allow for apps Chromebook can’t duplicate and it’s not internet reliant, in most cases. However, in the overall scheme of things it depends upon your needs and the level of use or abuse you plan to heap on whatever you get. Ten years from now this will probably sell on the used market for around $200 while the Chromebook will be in a dump somewhere. It’s not perfect but it’s a step forward for Apple and I’m sure it’ll be a hit just because it’s inexpensive compared to other MacBooks. ... show more
