  • Quality product
Received a nicely refurbished MacBook Air. Functions properly, processes well and keeps a strong charge. Thanks!

  • Free Upgrade but Tacky Gasket
I had to give this 4 stars because they actually sent me one with a bigger hard drive than what I ordered. I ordered one with a 512GB and they sent me a 1TB, hard to complain about that. But I can't give it 5 stars because while the physical condition of the MacBook Air is pretty good (only a couple of small nicks on the edges), the screen has been replaced and the rubber gasket they used is subpar. When the lid is closed it actually leaves a little residue on the palm rest that I have to wipe off. The gasket is also very tacky to the touch. I understand the item is refurbished but it would have been nice if they used only OEM quality parts. That said, the LED screen they used doesn't have any dead pixels and appears to work as well as the OEM, the gasket around it is the only issue. Dabbing the rubber gasket with a little baby powder or corn starch removes most of the tackiness, but I can't seem to stop it completely from leaving behind some residue when I close the lid. If not for the hard drive upgrade the best I would have given this item would be 3 stars because of this issue. Everything else on the Mac works as it should. ... show more

  • Power cord is JUNK
Laptop itself is OK but power cord, (specifically the plug in to an AC outlet) is 100% JUNK, damned thing didn't even last 1 week of use before it broke, there was no cord pulling, no cord tugging, no tripping over the cord. it apparently just spontaneously broke. on the other hand, the power cord to my older MacBook air has lasted 10 years with absolutely no problem, EVER. this new USB C power cord is pure unadulterated JUNK and a huge FAIL for Apple. so, there goes $25 for a new power cord to replace a brand new power cord. I'm very disappointed in Apple for releasing such a low quality item. ... show more

  • I am more than pleased with this.
Con: I had a weird issue where it would be charged and then ding as though I was plugging in the charger. This was like every 5 minutes. I was scared it was a bad USB Bridge but it was the flaky third party charger. It took me a few days to figure that out. Pro: Wow. I only found ONE (1) technical problem. The charger. That’s it. One. And I already had a charger so that was easy. I decided to run the diagnostics (startup CMD-d I believe) and it found no issues. It came with a custom image on it or maybe the previous owners image (corporate). I did an Internet restore instead. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this until after the first setup. So I had to wipe and restore once again. Tip: If you ever get a used mac, I recommend doing an internet restore. The internet restore downloads the image of macOS that shipped with computer. (Should have followed my own advice) The drive does not seem to have a lot of wear on it. It’s a bit harder for me to accurately tell on NVME tho. The battery had ~300 out of 1000 full charge cycles. Which is high based if it were based on my usage, but probably normal for others. The MacBook AIr itself is in near mint condition. (Will try to post photos) The keyboard was definitely used a bit. I could see the oil stains on the keys but other than that. This thing even smelled new. On top of it, it’s still under freaking warranty!!!!! I mean… yeah. Warranty on top of the slightly used condition. Can’t beat that for the price. I really wanted a higher end Intel MacBook. One with more Intel cores. Bigger screen because I am not yet ready for the M1 macs. The older Intel MBPro are not in my budget right now. Given the heat from this version of MBAir, it might be for the best. From what I’ve read about the M1 Pro, they get just as hot due to the GPU cores. When did 90C become an acceptable temperature? Anyway, this will replace my 2014 MacBook Air. I’m totally fine with that. I went from dual core (4 thread) to quad core (8 thread). From 4GB ram to 16GB. Perfect for what I do which is strictly web development and coding. Thanks guys. 5 stars. ... show more
