I have a rain jacket by colo mbia, and while it works well, it is about twice as bulky as I want. I bought this one as it was lighter weight with zippers and a hood, much more ideal for traveling. Yes - it is rain-proof and this can cause moisture build-up on the inside during wear in warm weather - but unless one spends the big bux for gore tex or others, any waterproof garment will do the same. This is Not a plastic bag like those sold on the street or in sports stadiums. It is a well constructed jacket with a quality zipper, hood, and wrist elastics. It is also offered in many colors from Camo, Lime Green, Orange, Navy, etc. I love the reflective accents for safety. Full-Featured, Value Priced. I am 5'8" 155# and requested the Large which was a great fit - with a little room if I want to wear a sweater underneath. Highly Recommended. ... show more

Perfect fit, I'm 5'10" 160 pounds and it's big enough to comfortably wear a sweatshirt under it but not too big to just wear with a tee shirt. Light weight as described. This definitely keeps the rain out but it's very important to realize that it does not "breathe" which means you sweat pretty good while wearing it so it is all up to each individual on what they need it for, it works great for my purpose as I use it while I'm out in pretty heavy rains. ... show more

I am very pleased with this purchase - this jacket is packable & can be folded down to a very small size and put in a backpack or even a pocket. But when you need it, it will definitely keep the rain completely off of you. It is also windproof. So it makes a great supplement to a sweater or sweatshirt, 'just in case'. And it actually LOOKS pretty good! And has florescent reflective safety markings. The only downside may be that because it blocks the rain and the wind SO well, it does not 'breathe' at all, and you can get hot or quite humid inside it if you are perspiring very much. When this came in, I stuck it in my work bag until needed. Well, today it started pouring on us and I grabbed this jacket and threw it on. It’s very light weight and easy to work in. I stayed dry and so did the items I had put into my pockets. The zippers sealed it up great have a solid quality to them. The jacket fit as expected, a little on the larger side making it comfortable to wear over the layers I was already wearing. This rain jacket made it through a very windy, rainy day on the Irish Coast, keeping me warm and dry the whole time. It was not a light sprinkle... It was raining cats and dogs! This rain coat is the one to get! It dries out really, really fast and it looks great on.
