  • Sturdy, Well Made, Budget Friendly
Color: Brown Size: 8'x6'w Set name: with Floor
I'm very happy with this shed. I'm a 63 year old woman and I was able to put this together myself with my 82 year old mother helping hold up panels on occasion and retrieve the occasional screw I dropped. First I built a foundation with pressure treated wood and set it on some concrete pavers to give it some airflow around the wood. Then I sorted all of the shed parts and started the assembly. I did not peel off the plastic coating on the pieces. I figured I'd get it assembled and if our summer heat released the plastic, I'd take care of it then. So far the plastic wrap still hasn't come loose and the shed still looks good. Mostly the instructions were good even though they are pictures only. There were a couple of places that could have used better explanations but got it figured out. Nothing major. All of the parts lined up well. Keep in mind, because this is a thin formed metal it flexes so the holes might seem slightly off until the part is seated properly. But if the holes didn't line up at all, I checked to see if I was adding the part in the wrong position and that was usually the case. There was one or two locations where the holes were actually little off, but I was using an electric screw driver (HIGHLY recommended for this project) and let the sheet metal screws push through. I did order the floor kit. The kit is basically just corrugated plastic panels so that might matter to you depending on what you are storing. It makes for a nice finish and was a good addition for our needs. Because there is a small gap around the doors and I knew we would be watering the lawn around the shed, I added car door seal stripping to the door edge. to keep the water out and that has worked great. We have very hot summers and I wanted something that I thought would stay on. So far it's working. We've had a few rainstorms and I checked the shed after each one and there hasn't been any water inside so it doesn't leak. If we had more extreme weather I would have probably gone with a stronger wood shed but this one is strong enough and works perfectly for my needs. It's also much more budget friendly. The latch could probably be better but it works and it keeps the door closed. One other note - it's actually gray and black. I bought it because it said brown and looked brown and tan in the photos but it's definitely not brown. Regardless of the color, I'm still happy I chose this shed. ... show more

  • A Good Cost Effective Shed Worth Improving
Color: Brown Size: 8'x6'w Set name: with Floor
*UPDATE* We just had our first severe thunderstorm with heavy winds and the shed was unphased. Everything inside was completely dry and this was little to no extra reinforcement. Highly recommended! I’m a basic DIYer and was able to build the shed by myself in about 7-8 hours. I highly recommend having an extra pair of hands to make the build easier and quicker, but it can be done on your own as long as the weather permits it. A gentle breeze will literally hinder your progress and even damage the shed as you’re building it without someone holding the panels up as you’re attaching them to the shed’s bottom. A power drill, a wrench, and a step ladder are absolutely necessary. Everything was packaged very well and securely. The included gloves were a nice addition and helped tremendously. The instructions were clear and straightforward and as long as you have patience and good attention to detail, you’ll be able to follow them without confusion. My main concern is how well the shed will hold up in inclement weather. Time will tell as far as leakage goes but I’d recommend sealing the gaps inside anyway. The screws are small and don’t secure the shed as well as they need to in different areas (especially the door hinges) and will eventually have to be reinforced or replaced with better ones. Hole alignments are a little off in many areas which is another reason why you need a drill. I purchased the shed with the floor which is plastic and not the greatest quality. All in all, this is a good cost effective barebones shed that can made much better with your own improvements and modifications after you have it up. ... show more

  • DIY Shed worth the effort
I was rather skeptical at first about whether or not I wanted to buy this shed. There are mixed reviews, some saying that the holes didn't align and the parts were dented. Some of my panels were indeed dented, but that's what you can expect for a full metal shed at this price. This is very thin gauge material so it will bend and it doesn't take much to dent. But my overall experience with this shed was very good. The first piece I put together the holes were not lining up. I was about to do what some others had suggested and drill my own pilot holes. But then I took another look at the detailed instructions and realized the holes did not line up because of my mistake. I had flipped one of the pieces on the base. After that, I was much more careful to make sure I had the correct pieces that I was trying to install and all the holes aligned. The entire process took me less than five hours and now I have a very nice looking shed. You can go spend a lot more money buying something that is already put together or is made of a sturdier material. But I am quite satisfied with what I have in this product. ... show more

  • Great shed
Color: Brown Size: 8'x6'w Set name: with Floor
I will start by saying I have NEVER put together anything of the sort. My 17 year old and I tackled this project and finished in 2 days (broken up due to lack of sunlight). That said, following the directions, it took us a total of like 8 hours. The boxes are super heavy so if possible, have the delivery guy put it where you’ll be building. The booklet gives pretty thorough instructions but there are a lot of pieces. Everything fit together just right until I got to the floor lol. It’s together but not quite like it was supposed to be hahahaha. There are many screws and not any extras. So be careful. We lost a few and managed but I wish I had known that there were no extras. The door was easy to set up and the lock works well. Keys are included as well. Not thinking I ever want to build another shed but I will say I was pretty proud of the fact that we got it together and working as a shed. Has been through a few storms and held up well, no leaking. ... show more

  • Not worth the cost, to many issues..
I decided to get this to have better storage for my yard tools, after much searching I decided to get this one. One of the features I liked was it came with a floor while most others didn’t . The box arrived with some minor damage. upon opening and taking the parts out I noticed quite a bit of damage on many of the panels, lots of noticable dents. as we began putting this together they became more prevalent. The roof had some gaps and where the roof met the verticle walls their were also gaps. We had to drill quite a fer holes as things failed to line up with the factory holes. I had several issues that required me to contact customer support, firstly the phone number that was listed was useless. I ended up contacting them through Amazon, after that they were quite responsive. after a few back and fourth attempts at resolution I decided that due to the many issues I was not going to keep this. So after two people spending over 6 hours assimbling this and 1 1/2 hours disambling I returned the shed. All in all this was a complete waste of time and energy. I had alot of photos to post however after writing my first review I deleted the photos but for some reason Amazon didnt like my review and rejected it, so this is review number two. the main thing you should take away from this is the product is light weight metal that dents and bends easily and you have a higher than 50% chance youll experience what I did. Im now going to get one of the composite models that wont have these issues. So buyer beware.... ... show more

  • Good and Bad
I purchased the 6 x 3.9 ft shed it is quite a challenge to put together. The base is simple and straight forward but the shed itself is challenging. Here are the reasons: 1) The instructions are not clear and not enough details are provided to ensure the pieces are arranged correctly. Specifically when you get to the rectangular metal support that the top of the side panels screw into, look at where the pieces should screw into the metal because the instructions can be confusing. 2) For the roof where the hole is 6 feet off the ground, putting a size 8 screw across 3 layers of metal where the holes do not line up correctly and you have to find a 1/2 cm diameter hole on the bottom layer to screw into is very difficult. The easier way is if the manufacturer used a nut/bolt system but it's just 1 small screw into a 1/2 cm diameter hole in the metal. The metal itself is also very thin and you will certainly scratch the paint/protective layer while you assemble it. However it is cheap and the pieces are light. Update: So my toddler accidentally kicked a panel and it crumpled. Now I have a hole on the side of the shed. Furthermore, as I mentioned above the metal is thin. The metal is also sharp. What is sharp and thin . . . a knife. Guess what happened when I accidentally hit my foot on the side of a panel. ... show more

  • Better than the first one
Color: Brown Size: 8'x6'w Set name: Standard
Let me first say that I purchased the same 6x8 shed about 5 years ago, and this newer model is SOOO much better than the first. To start, the instructions are easier to read, and unlike the previous one, ALL the holes lined up with these instructions. That wasn't the case on the first. If you see any photos of something not fitting correctly, I would say that's user install errors. A little tug or pull to line up holes is all that was needed. Strength! Yes, this one is much better put together because the overlapping sheets of metal have a nut and bolt in the center of the overlap, whereas the first one did not. This adds a lot of strength to the exterior. And once everything was put together, it felt much better built than the old one. Lock and key! Again, new and improved now has a lock and key while the previous one had a simple latch. Water proofing. While I did spray water on the roof to make sure I had no leaks, on this one I will follow what I did previously, and that's to go get a waterproof sealant from the local hardware store and put some on every screw on the roof. This worked like magic previously, since some of those holes didn't line up. Grab yourself some sealant and just cover each roof screw and you'll never need to worry about it. To add more strength as a whole, I screwed on pressure treated 2x4s underneath the metal frame and then plywood inside was screwed into the 2x4s. Mine sits directly on our cement outside, so your setup may need a different build. ... show more

  • Excellent shed at this price point
This shed is perfect for my needs; I wanted a small garden shed for my most used tools and garden accessories and it actually holds a lot. It was not the most fun to put together, but the instructions were pretty thorough and all parts were in the package. But nearly every metal panel was covered in hard to peel plastic...build in the time it takes to peel that off BEFORE you assemble the shed. It was easiest to assemble with a second person, but I was able to finish it alone. So far it's kept everything dry and has stood up to the elements and is solid on its foundation of pavers. Only the door latch was a problem...the screws wouldn't go all the way in and the alignment is off a bit...but that's not the end of my world. ... show more
