This product is not useful. If you have something like a yeti microphone and a spring arm stand as it is very hard to attach and very heavy it will weigh down your mic and cause the spring arm stand to not hold it in the position that you need it also only gives you about a half an inch behind the microphone to adjust any settings that are on a USB microphone. I don’t recommend this product, go find something better ... show more

    • What Noise?

    • Needs a heavy duty floor mount
So, this specific isolation shield does not screw into a mic mount, but tightens onto a floor stand. I had originally got a mic arm for a desk and intended on using this with that, turns out it doesn’t work that way. Also there is no feet for just putting it on your desk, and you have to use it upside down or the mic mount bar thing doesn’t let it sit flat. So I had to get a floor stand, well this thing is pretty hefty so I had to get a heavy duty stand, All those negatives being said (and a extra 50$ and time wasted waiting and now having a desk mic arm I don’t need), this thing actually works great. I’m in a living room in a house with thin walls and I notice wayyy less background noise when recording vocals. Everything sounds very isolated (in a good way) and not as cluttered. I am fairly sure most of these things function pretty equally in terms of actual isolation and sound shielding, so If I were to buy another one I’d be paying attention to the way it mounts and buy accordingly.     • Good for reducing reverb
I have to say that I was ready to be disappointed in this shield. For such a cheap price, would it really be able to do the job. Well, while it may not be perfect, it does do a pretty good job. Don’t expect it to absorb all the noise or completely isolate your audio; nothing can do that but a full isolation booth. But what it can do is reduce the amount of subtle reverb that can make your recording sound tinny and slightly echo-y. It helped reduce the audio bounce off the wall in front of me and that made a huge difference with the final recording. People don’t understand this isn’t used to sound proof anything it’s made so your voice doesn’t echo reverb bounce everywhere etc it’s tiny but it surely works
