I have never used a buffer and always hand waxed and detailed - Decided to try a buffer so did my home work as first time user -Goggled all info I could and went over all the Amazon buffer selections . I did notice for new users it was highly suggested to start with duel action buffer so started my search on Amazon. Some great high priced units for sure but not knowing how it might go, I decided on this decently priced unit. When it was delivered I was impressed with the buffer right off, Very tight solid buffer and the pads were decent for starting, I started on my tractor mower front end and WOW! I used McGuire's compound with the yellow pad - What a difference -made the tractor look brand new using McGuire's carnauba paste wax. Then felt confident enough to start my classic 1985 Tahoe Blazer 4x4 show truck. Man what a difference than hand detailing. The Blazer looks like it just came off the 1985 show room floor. So I'm sold on using a buffer, The other review don't be afraid to give it a try if you haven't is correct. I did get the 4 year extra warranty so should not have any problems should something after return period goes wrong -BUT It's a pretty solid buffer especially for the price. So comes complete all you need to get started. Do your home work if your new to buffing with duel action buffer and test something to get the hang of it then be surprised at results as I was...So glad I purchased this buffer - well worth the price and made a total difference in detailing. I highly suggest if your into buffing grab this if your thinking of starting with a buffer and looking at a decent price. I'm sure the top end buffers are excellent. I've already detailed a Blazer 4x4 Tahoe 2 times not a problem at all. I like the locking power switch and it is easy to use and handle. So far feel I made a good beginners choice. Nicely packaged - came complete with all you need to start 6" system. I'm happy with it so far and will update as I go along. So far worth every penny and at a great price. Glad I purchased this buffer and glad I went from hand polishing to using a buffer makes it all soooooo easy... Results are impressive . Maybe later I'll graduate to a top of the line buffer. BUT this is doing all i need for now nicely!! Hope it continues to be impressive as I use it? Now to learn more on different pads for cutting. Seriously if your new to buffing with a machine or just need to grab one at a decent price that is solid try this one. I think you'll agree it will get you started in the right direction. Just keep it clean after use and take care of the tool. and clean the pads - However I am ordering new more pro pads for the buffer now that I have the hang of it. You can bet I'll be using this on a regular basis. Hope this first time user of a polishing buffer helps if your new to it or need one at a great price. So far very happy I purchased this one.

Being hesitant to invest in a polisher to correct and protect the pain on the vehicles for many years, just came to reality all the time I wasted using the famous elbow grease. This polisher makes it so quick and easy to remove the swirls and contaminant the car collects on the road. I was able to correct, wax and ceramic coat the SUV in under 3 hours. The weigh on the tool makes it easy to just hover around the surfaces with the adequate amount of compound or wax, the selecting the lowest speed to avoid any chance to burn the paint. The variable speed works like a charm. Also the design that allows to change the handle to either side on the tool to have more control. Very convenient that this polisher comes with the needed pads just to be used right away, unlikely the option from the hardware-tools store where you have to buy everything as separate. The polisher noise is just average of any other electric rotary tool, no annoying vibrations or something that caused me unnecessary pain, some enthusiasts of the detailing world complains about vibrations and pain on joints, no this one. I cannot comment about durability but time will tell and I update if needed. I have used it in 3 full size SUVs, every time the tool made it easy and quick. I don't think you can beat the price-benefit on this one. *Note, I was able to restore the headlights in less than 2 minutes per unit, see the photo attached.

I wanted a ''polisher" to make polishing my granite a little easier. I've never owned one before so I read lots of reviews and browsed through several websites before choosing this one. I'm sure it's great for some people but for me it was not worth the money. 1) Too loud. 2) Too heavy. 3) Spread the polish product well, but would stop spinning when I applied any pressure to it for buffing the polish. Even just letting it rest on the buffer pad, using its own weight, with no pressure it would not spin very well. I even tried using it to spin a soft cloth on the surface of my granite. Would still not spin well. My back was bothering me trying to hold it just high enough off the surface to get a good spin. I ended up just using a soft cloth to buff the polish by hand like I always do. This might be because I was holding it horizontal to the surface? I will be returning the product simply because it wasn't for me. Questions about the differences between the foam pads: I looked at them carefully and could see no difference in density or texture. They appear to just be different colors. Also, easy clean up, I just washed the foam pad I used and the buffer cloth with warm water and Dawn dish detergent and rinsed well.

My Porter Cable DA is getting very hot when I use it now. Wanted to get another for some paint correction, but didn't want to spend as much. Comes with pads and a backing plate, but I used my pads that I had instead of the ones that come with the unit. The ones that are included are very thin and don't seem to be very good. I used the Maguire's 6" pads and it worked great. No overheating and removed the blemishes I had on the paint. No burning of the paint either. Very easy to use without the handle. I used it with 1 hand on the end and the other on the top with the protruding lip.

Great addition to my tool collection. This polisher worked well and the included pads did a fine job on my classic Lexus and my wife's Rav4. It seems quite well constructed for its price and yet it's light weight and easy to polish verticle surfaces with one hand. The speed range is impressive and adjusts smoothly. The locking power switch worked well, easy to start, easy to kill. The box is useful as a case. Pretty happy with this purchase.
